One week after his surgery to treat a malignant brain tumor, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is expected to be released from North Carolina's Duke University Medical Center on Monday, his son, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, told the Providence Journal-Bulletin.
After his release the 76-year-old will rest at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Cape Cod.
The operation, his son said, "went better than anyone expected."
