Good Luck and Happy Weekend!

Wet Seal

I haven't bought anything new lately, so I decided to look for clothes online. I was gonna go to Forever21's website, but then I decided to look at other stores too. I went ahead and looked at clothes from Wet Seal's website. And guess what? They are having an online sale! We get to take an additional 30% off all clearance items. :D

They have $5 sunglasses, $15 shorts/dresses/jeans/shoes, $10 tops, $8 shoes, and many other great deals. Check them out here. :)

Wet Seal always has sale/clearance promos like this (both store windows show a "sale" sign). A few months ago, I randomly went in to check out what they have, and lucky me, they had a "buy one get one for 99cents" promo! I got a yellow leather jacket for $26 and a dress originally priced at $20 for 99cents! How great is that? :)

What do you guys think about Wet Seal?

Ranbir as a tutor for Katrina Kaif!

Okay, so your minds are already running riot with naughty ideas. Hold on, lovelies, story abhi baki hai. Apparently, while shooting for Raajneeti in Bhopal, the pretty Katrina Kaif was determined to learn cricket. And guess who played tutor? ‘Good friend’ Ranbir Kapoor, of course.

ranbir kapoor,katrina kaif

The interesting part is that RK looked like true sportsman, minus the clothes. The hottie was topless on-field, even fashionably flaunting his cool blue boxer. No wonder, the rest of the crew couldn’t take the heat (they safely blamed it on the rising mercury), and left the lovely twosome on the field. Katz didn’t give up at that, the gal was so persistent that she roped in Arjun Rampal and the captain of the team, Prakash Jha, to join them. Even after sunset, she had the lights turned on to continue the game. We admire the gal’s sporting spirit, but what we love more is RK’s topless cricket style. We always knew this boy was a true style icon. He could put our ‘real’ cricketers to shame.

Dia Mirza denied the marriage rumors with Shoaib Akhtar!

Latest buzz in town is that after Sania Mirza, another Hydrabad beauty, ex-beauty queen and actress Dia Mirza would tie the knot with Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar. However Dia Mirza denied the rumors. “The news of my wedding with Shoaib Akhtar is absolutely rubbish. It’s a figment of imagination.” Dia said.

Dia asked media to make it known that she had nothing to do with Shoaib Akhtar and she doesn’t even know him. “I would like to get married and everybody will know it. As of now, I am not getting married to anyone.” Dia replied on her marriage plans.

Interestingly, Pakistani media has publicized it on a high note that Shoaib Akhtar will soon marry Dia Mirza and bring her to Pakistan. While there is no reliable information from either of the families, news has spread like a wild fire and this new link up has become burning topic at all levels.

Katrina Kaif’s loneliness kills her!

‘My loneliness is killing me’, sang Britney Spears in her hit number “Hit me baby one more time”. Surprisingly, Katrina Kaif is facing it literally in busy Mumbai. She is feeling so lonely in spite of the presence on her boyfriend Salman Khan in the city, and it’s taking its toll on her health.

Katrina-Kaif hot bollywood actress pictures

Buzz up!Katrina revealed that she is beginning to miss her family more and more. Her mother Sussane Turquotte can’t live with her in Mumbai, as she is committed to a cause in Nilangarai, Tamil Nadu. Her younger sister Isabelle is in New York studying acting and the rest of her family are not in the mood to leave England. So, she is left all alone in Mumbai, working day in and day out to fulfill her dream.

She admitted that she doesn’t know what to do all alone at home and doesn’t bother about her food. She has even lost a few kilos of late due to eating disorder. “I keep wondering if it is the heat that has caused this loss of appetite. Honestly, I don’t know. Something is bothering me and I can’t pin-point what it is. But I just feel that if my family was around, I would enjoy a normal home life. It’s nice to have people at the dinner table,’’ Mumbai Mirror quoted her as saying.

Well, Katrina may be making big bucks in Bollywood but she should know that health is wealth. May be it is a call to settle down and start a family of her own. What say Katrina?

Kareena Kapoor dare for doing negative role!

The glam diva gets a stylish makeover for her next with beau Saif Ali Khan. The movie Agent Vinod finally rolls next month with Kareena Kapoor reportedly playing a Pakistani agent.

kareena kapoor bollywood actress pictures 300510

As per recent media reports, Bebo’s character is a negative one with altogether five different looks. Yes, she plays a Pakistan-based CIA agent and will use prosthetics for her various looks. Designer Aki Narula, who has worked with her in most of her stylish films like Tashan and Kambakkht Ishq, has been roped in to design her wardrobe for the flick, which is going to be a slick action thriller.

In Kareena’s words ‘Agent Vinod’ is a very ‘Saif style’ film. From what we hear, in the film Bebo works for a group of money-grubbing, astute businessmen who want to make humungous profits from a war-like situation in Asian subcontinent. However, Bebo is a secret agent for Pakistani government.

Reports even reveal that Saif who actually gets to play Agent Vinod is not romantically paired up with Bebo in the flick.

Letters to Juliet

Last night, I tried to put a trailer of Letters to Juliet on my new post. Sadly, however, it didn't work out. The video was cut in half.
:(

So, here is a poster instead:

I am really excited to see this movie. Yes, it's probably going to be a typical chick flick, but that's the kind of movies I like to watch. :D I'm looking forward to seeing the Italian countryside, and Chris Egan is a refreshing face to look at. I think he has good chemistry with Amanda Seyfried.

Letters to Juliet comes out on May 14. :)

Is this a movie you're considering watching? :D

Getaways Guest Blog Series: Averill of Odi et Amo

Watching Averill of Odi et Amo decorate her house has been an inspiration. Not only does her blog contain a ton of beautiful design images and great finds, but seeing what she has done to her own home really makes me excited for my own decorating.

Here some of this sweet, talented blogger's vacation faves...

Favorite Vacation Spot

London, England. I've been a half dozen times since I was a teenager (including last July) and we're going again this May.

Where To Stay

I try and mix it up in London, staying in a different neighborhood each time. The past two years Dave and I have had incredible luck with Hotwire -- just pick a neighborhood and a hotel class and take the gamble! The savings are incredible and with London as your playground, you won't be spending much time in your room anyway -- the key is being well-located. This year we're staying in Westminster, near Victoria Station, which is an amazing location. Last year we were in Kensington, and while its a little farther out it is well-located for a number of amazing sites (like the V and A as well as Kensington Palace), is just a tube-ride away from the heart of London, and has wonderful, posh neighborhoods that I love to stroll through and some great restaurants.

Where To Eat

The key to enjoying your meals in London is to go for ethnic fare. Indian, Malaysian, Thai...these are all done superbly in London and should not be missed. The only traditionally English fare that I love is tea time, and nobody does it better than The Palm Court at the Ritz. For great continental dining + after-dinner drinks combination, you can't do better than The Boxwood Cafe and the adjacent Blue Bar (shown above), both at The Berkley.

What To Do

I'm sure most of you know the highlights of what to see in London (Westminster Abbey, the Tower, the London Eye, Windsor Castle, etc.) but a few sites off the beaten path that I love include the Museum of London (small, but so well done), the Imperial War Museum (incredibly moving exhibits on WWII in particular), and Kensington Palace (especially if you're a fan of Queen Victoria or Princess Diana). For easy day trips, I'd suggest taking the train up to Oxford and then grabbing a cab to Blenheim Palace (the ancestral home of the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Winston Churchill), it's everything a grand English country estate should be. For shopping, if you haven't been to Harrod's food court, you simply must for the gawk-factor. If you actually want to buy something, I'd suggest another one of England's classic department stores: Henri Bendel or Liberty of London (shown above).

Five Vacation Essentials

1. A guide book -- I am particularly fond of the Lonely Planet series. I often don't read them until I get on the plane, but planning your trip (and getting excited about it) is a great way to kill time on long flights.

2. Chick lit -- the fluffier, the better. My all-time favorites are Jennifer Weiner and Marian Keyes.

3. My sunglasses -- even in foggy London, I can't spend any real time outside without my shades.

4. My camera -- Dave got me the Canon Elph last February for Valentine's Day and I love it. The small size is perfect for traveling and it takes great, idiot-proof photos.

5. My blackberry -- sad, but true. Even when I'm traveling out of the country, I'll buy a short-term international plan just so I can take it with me. Yes, it's an addiction.

Vacation Clothing Staples

I always try and pack light and despite my love of clothes (and shoes!), I often manage to pack for a week long trip with just a carry-on. I do this by sticking to a very tight color palette. I'll go with either a black, brown or navy base and everything I take has to work with the single color base I'm working off of. Not only does this helps limit the number of shoes I take, which is essential if you're trying to keep your load lighter, but it also allows me to mix-and-match once I get to my destination (I hate pre-planning every outfit!) I also tend to keep jewelry and purses to a minimum lest I lose them.

What I Bring for the Journey...

I've got a pair of Lululemon Athletica loose fitting yoga pants (they sell them in long, hallelujah!) that I always wear on long flights. I typically pair them with a comfortable tank top (I actually love Banana Republic's ribbed tanks) and a zip-up hoodie. Flip-flops or slip on sneakers make going through security much simpler. For entertainment, I also bring in my carry-on one book, two magazines, and my iPod. I like to have options!

Favorite Traveling Companion

My darling husband of (nearly) four years, Dave.

The Next Spot I'd Like to Visit...

Can I cheat and do a four-for-one? I'd love to do a proper tour of the Near East: I'd start in Greece (Athens and then some island hopping: Santorini, Crete, Rhodes, etc.) then jet over to Turkey (Istanbul primarily, but I'm also dying to see Ephesus), then skip over to Jordan to see the Roman town of Petra, and finish up in Israel (Jerusalem, Galilee, the Dead Sea...). And back home again via Tel Aviv. Quite the trip, no? I figure I'll need at least 3 weeks and quite a bit more money saved up to do it properly.

Beautiful Home: 04.28.10

To entertain myself during the LOST hiatus I decided to go hunting for beautiful interiors. I had never seen these photos of Kate Hudson's Pacific Palisades home (taken in 2005) until I stumbled on them recently on the W site. I love how the rooms still look fresh even five years on. No secret that I adore the Moroccan touches (gorgeous carved pieces, beautiful screens) and I like how designers Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch of Roman and Williams paired them with a breezy, casual elegance. Photos by Alexia Silvagni.

I am crazy in love with that
mirror on the far wall.

Love the gothic element added by the
black Murano chandelier. I'm also a fan of
the floors and the cupboard, which is from
a Portuguese convent.

Pieces like this unique chair really
make a room in my opinion.

How cool is this master bedroom sitting
area? Seems like the kind of place
you would never want to leave.

Can I have? Please?!

Great light fixture and I love
the added detail of the dark trim.

And the pièce de résistance...

A gorgeous outdoor space!

Designer Spotlight: Michael Kors

One of my favorite pairs of shoes are my Michael Kors sandals. I've had them since I was 16, and they're still as lovely as ever. It really is true when they say that you get what you pay for. Even if you spend a considerable amount of money for designer bags or shoes, it's totally worth it because they will really last a long time.

What I love about Michael Kors is that not all of their items are high-priced. They have a number of products that are priced reasonably. You get a chance to own a designer item without hurting your pocket. :D

Here are some of the items from http://www.michaelkors.com/ that I would love to buy: Hamilton Large Tote, Vanilla White, $298

Pressly Toe-Ring Sandal, $120

Double-Strap Gladiator Sandal, $595

Fulton Moccassin, Honey Python, $120

Celebrities also love to wear Michael Kors on the red carpet. His style is often described as "classic, chic, and luxurious but sensible".

Love It!: Brad Walsh Jewelry

How great are these pieces by musician/jewelry designer Brad Walsh?

Ranbir Kapoor,Deepika Padukone together again?

In the matters of the heart, it’s not easy to let bygones be bygones. Professional though she may be to the core, Deepika Padukone is learnt to be indecisive about taking a call on whether to work with ex boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor again or not.

deepika padukone ranbir kapoor

We hear that director Anurag Basu has approached Deepika to play one of the two female leads opposite Ranbir in his next film ‘Khamoshi’ (Silence). Earlier, the director had approached Katrina Kaif but she had turned down the offer for the reasons that remain unclear.

Deepika, however, hasn’t said no yet. She’s believed to be biding her time and thinking over the offer.

Sources close to the actress say that Deepika won’t let her personal equation with any other actor come in the way of her work. But still, given that she’ll be cast in a romantic role opposite Ranbir, she’s having her share of apprehensions. Will she be comfortable cozying up with her ex on camera again?

Dhoni and the gorgeous actress Asin relationship?

Rumour has it that Indian skipper MS Dhoni and the gorgeous actress Asin are bonding big time. The media in the south has already tagged them as an item!

Dhoni Asin

Now, as per recent media reports, Dhoni visited Asin’s Mumbai residence to watch the first semifinal IPL match. As sources tell a daily, everyone was eager to catch a glimpse of Dhoni when he entered Asin’s apartment. But thankfully there was no chaos and after the match the captain cool managed to sneak away without anyone’s notice.

The couple’s friendship is not new; in fact it’s believed that Asin and Dhoni know each other for more than a year. The Ghajini actress was also present at Dhoni’s birthday party last year. They both endorse a common brand, and have met each other during the shoot of the commercials.

Dhoni was already in news because of his alleged link-up with the sexy Tamil actress Laxmi Rai; now it’s Asin!

It seems the captain of the champ team Chennai Super Kings has been bowled over by southern beauties.

Preppy Mafia

Hi everyone! It's another week ahead of us. I'd like to start the week by passing on this Preppy Mafia Award/ Tag that I got from Breee. Thanks, Breee! :D

The rules: 1. Copy and paste the above button onto your blog/website

3. Favorite party theme? -- I had a Moroccan-themed party for my 18th. I had belly dancers! So, I guess, by far, that is my favorite. :D

Lorraine Aldor

I hope everyone had a great Monday! :D
