Tiki Barber "Runs for the Wild!"

We recently got a cool video in featuring Tiki Barber, former New York Giant and Today show correspondent, “interviewing” a “tortoise and a hare!" Former NFL football running back, author, entrepreneur, and correspondent Tiki Barber has taken on a new gig for the “Wildlife Conservation Society Sports Center.” The video is to highlight the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Run for the Wild, scheduled for Saturday, April 25. The run is part of the on-going Earth Month Party for the Planet celebration at the Bronx Zoo. On race day at the Bronx Zoo, Saturday, April 25, Barber will be among those running. A special meet-and-greet autograph signing session with the football great will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon for run participants. Check out the video here:

Hey, East Coasters! The Bronx Zoo Is In Trouble!

Our favorite NY Zoo needs our help! Remember the feature we did at the Zoo in October? For generations, the Bronx Zoo has provided an invaluable service to educate and amaze the public with their incredible exhibits and lovable animals. New York state governor David Paterson has proposed a devastating 55% budget cuts across seventy six zoos, botanical gardens and aquariums in New York. With the Bronx Zoo included in this group, this threat can only be warded off with the public’s help. Gorilla Population in Congo Looking Up!

Okay, we've totally been on a wildlife kick lately! Remember our blog post a week or two ago about the new Madagascar exhibit at the Bronx Zoo? Well, now we've got even more news about our favorite wildlife creatures! The world’s population of critically endangered western lowland gorillas received a huge boost today when the Wildlife Conservation Society released a census showing massive numbers of these secretive great apes alive and well in the Republic of Congo.

"We knew from our own observations that there were a lot of gorillas out there, but we had no idea there were so many," said Dr. Emma Stokes, who led the survey. This is great news to share! We are completely 100% for saving wildlife! So we want you to help us by promoting the newest exhibit at the Bronx Zoo right up the coast from us! Tell everyone about it! The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) opened up a spectacular exhibit at The Bronx Zoo featuring the wildlife of Madagascar. The new exhibit offers guests a breathtaking view of the world’s fourth largest island off Africa’s eastern coast and home to an amazing array of unique animals and plants. The exhibit features a wealth of wildlife diversity found in this island nation, sometimes called “the eighth continent.”
