Michelle Williams Lands Role As "Roxie Hart"

Pretty cool news to report! Grammy-winning singer, acclaimed actress and Music World/Columbia Records artist Michelle Williams has landed the coveted role of murderous chorus girl Roxie Hart in the enormously popular West End production of "Chicago The Musical". Check out our interview with Michelle when we caught up with her last summer!

Michelle will appear at the Cambridge Theatre (Earlham Street, Seven Dials, London WC2) during a limited six-week engagement running from July 13 through August 23. Ticket information for Michelle Williams' "Chicago" performances may be found at: www.chicagothemusical.com/uk_site

"It's a real thrill to be given the opportunity to play Roxie Hart in the West End's spectacular production of 'Chicago,'" said Michelle Williams. "She's one of the greatest characters in the history of musical theater and it's both a challenge and a lot of fun to bring her to life on-stage. I hope that everyone who comes to the show enjoys it as much as I do."

Chicago is the seventh longest-running show in Broadway history and longest-running Broadway musical revival ever. The West End production which opened in November 1997 and won the 1998 Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical is the longest running Broadway musical ever to play in London.

MySpace Music Announces Secret Show Featuring MSTRKRFT

MySpace Music is pleased to announce an upcoming Secret Show featuring the Canadian duo MSTRKRFT at Co-Prosperity Sphere in Chicago, IL, on April 2. The Secret Show performance will be held exclusively for MySpace users, who were notified via MySpace Music’s Secret Show profile . Doors for the concert will open at 8:00 PM.

Comprised of Death From Above 1979's Jesse Keeler and DFA1979's producer, Al-P, MSTRKRFT (pronounced "master kraft") made their debut in 2004, remixing NYC band Panthers' "Thank Me With Your Hands," which landed on various compilations and quickly became an underground dance hit. Since then, the two Toronto-based producers have been remixing everyone from The Kills to Bloc Party to Wolfmother to Annie. Released on March, 17, 2009, "Fist Of God" (Dim Mak/Downtown) is the highly-anticipated follow-up to their massively successful 2006 debut "The Looks" and features contributions from N.O.R.E., Ghostface Killah, Bay Area hip-hop icon E-40, Freeway, Lil' Mo and John Legend. Most recently, the group performed their single "Bounce" on Jimmy Kimmel Live with N.O.R.E and Isis from Thunderheist. Touring North America throughout April, the duo will also be making an appearance at this year's Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA, on Saturday, April 18.

MOBY TO PERFORM SPECIAL DJ SET AT MYSPACE SECRET SHOW IN CHICAGO, APRIL 22

Moby (http://www.myspace.com/moby) -- one of the pioneering musicians of the last 20 years -- will perform a DJ set with DFA Associates Holy Ghost!, Justin Miller and Jacques Renault at a free MySpace Secret Show , Tuesday, April 22 at Smart Bar in Chicago. The show starts at 9 PM.

Moby recently released his latest album Last Night on April 1, through Mute Records. Alternating between hands-in-the-air anthems, old school hip-hop and end-of-the-night ambience, Last Night is a dance music tour de force that looks back at Moby’s deep roots in the club scene while simultaneously embracing the future.

The album has been hailed by various music outlets, including Rolling Stone who, in a four star review declared, “it’s exciting to hear this forty-two-year-old vegan blogger return to form.” Likewise, Moby’s DJ sets are not to be missed. As Pitchfork noted after a recent appearance in Austin: “If you ever get the chance to see Moby DJ at a warehouse party, do it. Think what you will about Moby, but dude knows how to rock a dancefloor.”

MySpace Music has organized more than 100 Secret Shows since the franchise launched in February 2006 with artists like Rilo Kiley, Fran Ferdinand, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Ray LaMontagne performing in cities around the world.
