Paula Abdul Is A Hot Commodity

PCM Reported this week that in Paula Abdul's departure from American Idol that both NBC and CBS were interested in Paula. In stand up interviews with Paula by Entertainment TV Paula said she was overwhelmed by the attention of who wanted her and she apparently was not kidding. Paula has added ABC to the list of networks wanting her onboard.

In the case of ABC, they want her for Dancing With The Stars, and if course that is a good fit for Paula as she was a choreographer for music videos before her own singing career took off in the 1980's.

ABC's Entertainment President Steve McPherson has put out there that ABC wants Paula for Dancing with the Stars saying, "We would love to have her on 'Dancing' (with the Stars) whether its as an contestant, or particpant , judge etc...," Continuing her praise, "There's a lot made about who she is."

Even Paula's own Fox rounds out the Network interest as they too want her for So You Think You Can Dance with producer Nigel Lythgoe even if was just as a guest judge. Paula has a lot to think about as she needs to strike while the iron is hot and cash in on her celebrity appeal.

'Dancing with the Stars' Judge Secretly Battles Cancer

65-year-old Len Goodman, best known for his position on the judging panel on 'Dancing with the Stars,' has revealed that he recently underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his prostate. Despite being diagnosed in March, Goodman decided to wait to get treatment until after filming was finished and declined to inform fellow judges or the show's producers.

Luckily, doctors felt that immediate surgery wasn't necessary, as Goodman's cancer was not yet advanced to a life-or-death situation. Therefore, he decided to stick it out as the show wrapped up and went in for treatment as soon as he returned home. Following his release from the hospital, the judge announced that he felt "right as rain." See you next season!

Daryl Hall And John Oates Will Sing On ABC's Dancing With The Stars The Results Show This Week!

The Stars will be Dancing to the music of Daryl Hall and John Oates this week. The best-selling pop-rock duo of all time will perform their #1 hit single, “Maneater,” on this Tuesday’s edition of ABC’s hit series Dancing with the Stars The Results Show, March 24 at 9 p.m. (ET).

The song, from their 1982 album H2O, which has been certified double-platinum by the R.I.A.A. for selling more than two million copies in the U.S., is one of seven Daryl Hall and John Oates albums to go platinum, along with the duo’s six gold albums and total of 29 Top 40 hits.

Daryl Hall and John Oates’ live rendition of “Maneater” will be accompanied by performances from professional dancers Karina Smirnoff, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani and Dmitry Chaplin on the show, which will feature the samba and the fox trot, as well as the elimination of a second couple from the competition. Daryl Hall and John Oates have previously appeared on prime-time network television in 2006 for an episode of Will and Grace, appeared with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show, and had their music featured on American Idol. Daryl is currently host of his own critically acclaimed monthly web performance series, Live From Daryl's House, at http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/.

Over the course of their record-breaking career, which began when they met in the early ‘70s in their hometown of Philadelphia, Daryl Hall and John Oates have been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, been honored as BMI Icons, sold more than 60 million albums and chalked up eight #1 hits, including such classics as “Rich Girl,” “Kiss on My List,” “Private Eyes,” “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do),” “Sara Smile,” “She’s Gone” and “One on One,” as well as “Maneater.” Their latest album is a two-CD/DVD set, Live at the Troubadour, which they recorded during a historic set at the L.A. club in May, 2008, marking a return to the days when they first played there at the time of their first album, Abandoned Luncheonette.

Bad News For Jewel

Uh, oh! This doesn't sound good. Singer/poet Jewel may be out of 'Dancing With The Stars' before it even starts on March 9th! She recently revealed in her blog that tendonitis in both knees may be the demise of her 'Dancing' career. "I guess I really over did it on the rehearsal front!" the 34-year-old singer said. Bummer - we thought it would be fun to see Jewel on 'Dancing With The Stars,' wonder what will happen to her!

"My knees have been hurting so badly that I finally broke down and talked to Ty's (her husband) knee doctor yesterday. He said I have tendonitis in my knees and that I have to start a course of medicine to try and bring the swelling down. Yuck! It's mainly my left knee, and I can't believe I hurt it so badly," she wrote.

Dancing With The Stars : Season 8 Cast Revealed!

I've never been a fan of Dancing With The Stars, heck, I don't think I've ever even watched a full episode. But from the looks of the eighth season line-up, I may start watching! There are plenty of good celebrities on there that may keep it interesting! Season 8 premieres on March 9th.

Here's a look at the full list of the complete cast and a little description of who they are in case their name stumps you:

Belinda Carlisle: Pop star
Stephen "Steve-O" Glover: Creator and star of Jackass
David Alan Grier: Comedian, host of Chocolate News on Comedy Central
Shawn Johnson: Olympic gymnast
Jewel Kilcher: Singer
Lil' Kim: Rapper
Gilles Marini: Actor, appeared in Sex and the City: The Movie
Ty Murray: Former rodeo cowboy, Jewel's husband
Nancy O'Dell: Access Hollywood host
Denise Richards: Actress
Lawrence Taylor: Retired NFL player
Chuck Wicks: Country singer, paired with girlfriend Julianne Hough
Steve Wozniak: Apple computer co-founder

Some of these stars are pretty big, Jewel and Lil' Kim?! Of course, they threw in the typical NFL player as per usual but I think the rest of the cast may provide some interesting material for a good season!

Melissa Joan Hart dishes on "Dancing with the Stars," teen stars, & The Dog Whisperer

Talk show host Bonnie Hunt invited Melissa Joan Hart to “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” to discuss today’s teen stars and getting rejected by both “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Dog Whisperer."

Having grown up in the media spotlight due to her roles in “Clarissa Explains it All” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” Melissa voices her concerns to Bonnie about the new age of teenage stardom and what she witnessed working with Britney Spears and says, “These kids are like franchises right now. They are not just acting and singing. As soon as you have a tv show or a hit song, all of a sudden you have to have a clothing line, a fragrance, you’ve to got put out a country album…are you kidding me? I don’t know how they do it. No wonder they crash at the age of 23.”

She also blames the limelight-loving mothers of these young stars who are having trouble dealing with their newfound fame, “I think that is the number one problem. A lot of these moms are living out their dreams through their kids and it’s apparent when they are getting reality shows.”

Hart is also very vocal about being rejected by the hit series “Dancing with the Stars,” and being replaced by Heather Mills and tells Bonnie that after she had to decline being on the show due to her pregnancies, “We were kind of looking into it but I was bumped for a lady…I am not going to mention her name…a little British chippy. I think she took my spot, I’m not sure, but I have a little beef with her.”

Hart goes on to tell Bonnie that she also got turned down by Cesar Milan “The Dog Whisperer.” She explains that they came over to her house and told her that her dogs weren’t bad enough. Hart told them, “Ok...so the dog chewed his way through the screen of the window, broke into my house and pooped on the floor and that’s not bad enough for ya?”

Bonnie laughs and warns Melissa, “You think ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is mad at you, wait ‘til that dog whisperer comes after you!”

Lance Bass Dances With The Stars

Check out this video of Lance's performance on ABC's dance competition show with his partner. It's pretty entertaining! Bass, formerly of the boy band N'Sync, and now a contestant of the highly-viewed 7th season of the ABC show, "Dancing with the Stars" described himself on the show as the worst dancer of his singing group, but did an admirable cha-cha with partner, Lacey Schwimmer to ''Jumpin' Jack Flash,'' earning 22 out of 30.

Cristián de la Fuente has surgery

Dancing with the Stars finalist, actor Cristián de la Fuente, had successful surgery on his injured left arm Saturday, People reported.

"I was able to get a perfect repair of the bicep. Cristian will spend about a week in a splint, then start rehab," his surgeon, Dr. Elattrache, told People. "He will have a full recovery and full strength back" in three weeks.

The actor, who will star on USA Network's new series In Plain Sight, premiering June 1, also made a statement to People: "Thank you to everyone for their concern and well wishes."

On Dancing with the Stars April 21, de la Fuente was unable to dip his professional partner, Cheryl Burke, due to the injury. He was unable to perform their dance and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

According to People, he is recuperating at his Los Angeles home with his wife and daughter.

Kristi wins DWTS

Olympic gold medal figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi won the Dancing with the Stars mirror-ball trophy last night, beating out NFL star Jason Taylor and actor Cristián de la Fuente.

"This is just the icing on the cake," Yamaguchi said about the win. "Honestly, from the bottom of my heart I want to thank all the fans out there and everyone involved...for making this a dream experience."

Yamaguchi was the first female winner in four seasons, since soap opera star Kelly Monaco won the inaugural season of Dancing with the Stars.

"This is definitely for all those women out there to continue to be strong," she said after the win.

Yamaguchi and her partner Mark Ballas were the judges' favorite, earning a perfect 90 out of 90 - a first in DWTS history - for the week.

"Obviously the fans are the deciding factor here," Yamaguchi said, "and I can't say enough to thank them."

The skater also won fans among her dancing peers.

"Kristi deserved it more than any other woman in any other season," said professional dancer Cheryl Burke, who partnered de la Fuente. "It's about time that a woman wins."

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said that Yamaguchi's athletic background helped her win, since athletes can channel criticism and turn it into results, and also noted that her personality emerged throughout the season.

"She was technically great and she was doing incredible choreography," Inaba said. "She was able to really develop her crowd-pleasing skills and that's what set her over the top."

Yamaguchi's competitors also credited her dancing. Taylor called her "just perfect," and de la Fuente said "it was impossible to beat her."

The skater said that while the win does not match her Olympic gold medal, it was still a "fun, amazing experience."

"It's not just this [trophy] but what it represents," she said. "It's all the hard work and the time spent together and the friendships made, challenging yourself and learning something new."

Dancing with the Stars favorite takes a break

A surprising announcement regarding Dancing with the Stars was made on Monday evening's Dance War finale. Professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 28, who has partnered Laila Ali and Mel B. in the finals, will not be returning for the sixth season.

"He just needs a break," an ABC spokesperson said. "He is part of the Dancing family, and he will be back."

In December he told People that he felt burnt out from the grueling schedule of the popular show.

"After coming down from two seasons back-to-back, 10 weeks each season — 14 weeks, if you count all of the rehearsals — it puts a lot of pressure on a person and it takes its toll," he said.

Chmerkovskiy is currently completing a Dancing with the Stars fitness video with Cheryl Burke, another of the show's professional dancers. He will continue teaching students at Rising Stars Dance Academy in Saddlebrook, N.J. this spring, and there is a possibility he may appear in the group-choreographed dances during the results shows of Dancing with the Stars.

Marie Osmond Hits the Floor!

Marie Osmond lost her breath and passed out after her routine on the ABC hit show, "Dancing with the Stars." Thankfully, she was okay and no harm was done! As the camera zoomed out to show Osmond splayed out on the dance floor, the program quickly cut to commercial. Osmond, who turned 48 on Oct. 13, explained away the incident, saying on-air with a giggle that "once in awhile that happens to me when I get winded. I stop breathing."
