Conan's Not Joking With NBC

Conan O’Brien will not be accepting NBC’s proposal to move him and “The Tonight Show,” from the 11:35 p.m. to the 12:05 a.m. time slot. O’Brien started hosting “The Tonight Show,” about seven months ago after Jay Leno left it to host his own show called “The Jay Leno Show.”

On Sunday NBC announced that they were going to take “The Jay Leno Show” out of its prime-time position. The show was doing poorly in the ratings at the 10 p.m. time slot and was not meeting the affiliates’ needs. They plan to have Leno host a new half-hour show at the 11:35 p.m. slot. However, this move will have a domino effect.

This pushes O’Brien’s “The Tonight Show,” and Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night,” into later time slots. A main reason why O’Brien is not accepting NBC’s proposal is due to the survival of the show. “The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show,” says O’Brien.

He not only makes this decision for himself but for his fellow competitors, which brings some humanity into the business world. “Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot,” says O’Brien. “That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.”

Now these talk shows hosts are doing what they do best—talking. Leno spends some time on his show bashing the way NBC handled the situation. “They don't have a lot of tact,” says Leno. “After they canceled the show, they told me if I gained 10 pounds I could join 'The Biggest Loser.'”

O’Brien is upset because he and his staff have worked very hard to get where they are, and it is very disappointing for him. However, no matter how upset he may be, he never fails to shed some light with his own Conan style. He ended his statement by saying, “Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.”

Talk Host David Letterman Foils Blackmailer

A man has been charged over an alleged plot to blackmail chat show host David Letterman over sexual relationships he had with female staff members.

CBS employee Robert "Joe" Halderman, a producer for the true-crime show 48 Hours, was arrested after an undercover sting operation over an alleged plot to blackmail over sexual relationships David Letterman had with several staff members. Letterman confessed during a recording of his show, broadcast by CBS, that he had had sex with female colleagues.

He said a man had threatened to expose the relationships with a book and a screenplay unless a payment of $2,000,000 was made. Letterman, 62, married long-term girlfriend Regina Lasko in March. They have a six-year-old son.

Letterman told his studio audience that he was first approached by the alleged blackmailer three weeks ago. He said he had got in his car early one morning to find a package with a letter containing proof of the "terrible things" he was said to have done. Following his lawyer's advice, David contacted the Manhattan District Attorney's office and the arrest of Mr. Halderman was made on Thursday.

Apparently, the 'funny business' was not limited to his late night monologues... Our friends at Gawker discovered that " Letterman had a cadre of female assistants who fell heavily on the young and attractive side of the ledger. He was said to employ as not less than three of these Special Assistants to the Host last year. The assistant tally however, was said to have climbed as high as five... Each Valentines Day, Letterman sent lavish, expensive bouquets of flowers to each and every non-male on the Late Show staff with a handwritten note signed 'Your Friend Dave.'"

Gawker/Defamer also reported that the scuttlebutt on the set had it that current assistant-in-question, Stephanie Birkitt, received extra compensation for duties as his First Assistant, in the form of Letterman picking up the tab for her graduate law studies at the Yeshiva University Law School. Birkitt's duties included nannying work around the office. She could often be seen playing with his son and chasing him through the office halls. Birkitt also frequently appeared on air, playing the part of Dave's assistant in sketches and often delivering prizes to audience members in constants. Dave favored Birkitt with playful nicknames in these moments such as "Vicky" "Kitty" and "Dutch."

He handled it about as well as he could, making it part of the Thursday night monlogue, although a bit ironic considering his many sexual jokes about President Bill Clinton, Monica Lewinsky and even his jokes about people who didn't partake in extra-marital activities like Sarah Palin. What goes around, comes around, Dave.

David Letterman gets ultimate Christmas Gift from Jennifer Aniston

If you didn't catch Letterman the other night you missed out. Jennifer Aniston not only showed her class and courage, she showed at age 39 she still had the body to dress and impress.

Was it even necessary? After all when you pose on the cover of GQ with nothing but a necktie and your birthday suit, people know it.

People know it so well that when she arrived on David Letterman's show last night, she decided to give Dave her naked neck-tie as a gift.

Check it out blow-by-blow, thanks to a PCM YouTuber...

Awkward Moment On Letterman

Perhaps David Letterman just said what we all secretly have been thinking. On a recent episode of his show, 'The Hills' starlet Lauren Conrad had to face Letterman's heat.

Letterman, who in the past has clashed with 'Hills' villain Spencer Pratt, seemed genuinely interested in the infinite Lauren vs. Heidi Montag drama on the hit MTV show. When Conrad answered that it had been going on for years, Letterman put a screeching halt to the interview by saying: "Maybe you're the problem." Conrad, visibly annoyed by the comment, then attempted to backpedal. Check it out for yourself and cringe:

Too Good To Pass Up!

The Hills' Spencer Pratt appeared on the David Letterman show this past Friday, he is absolutely ridiculous in the interview and really thinks the world of himself, it seems! Even Dave takes a few stabs at him. Take a look, it makes you cringe and I had to post it!

David Letterman apologizes to Paris

Remember when Paris Hilton visited David Letterman after her jail stint in September?

Well, during her appearance on the show on Friday, he apologized for badgering her about her time behind bars.

"We have a lovely woman who's been in prison," Letterman said about his behavior during her previous visit. "I put those two things together and my head starts spinning."

"I continued to press the point," Letterman said. "I thought I was hilarious." The next day, he recalled, people told him, "No, you were an ass."

Paris, who stated during the September visit that he was hurting her feelings, supposedly vowed to never return. Letterman wrote her a letter, sent her flowers and cajoled her into coming yesterday to promote her film, "The Hottie and the Nottie."

"I offended you. I'm not here to make enemies, honestly," Letterman told Hilton on Friday. "I'm terribly sorry."

"Yes," Hilton, replied. "And you better not try it again. I hope you got the jail thing out of your system."
