Minissha Lamba to be seen in a non-glamorous role

After appearing in an ultra-glamorous avatar in ‘Kidnap’, Minissha Lamba will now be seen in a non-glamorous role in Benegal’s forthcoming film, “Well Done Abba” which is a political satire. The film, produced by Reliance Big Pictures, is inspired by two short stories - “Narsaiyyan Ki Bavdi” by Jeelani Bano and “Phulwa Ka Pul” by Sanjeev.

 

The story of the film revolves around Armaan Ali (Boman Irani), a driver working in Mumbai who takes a month’s leave to find a husband for his teenaged daughter, who lives in a small neighborhood near Hyderabad. But he returns to his job after three months with a good reason for the delay.

 

“At first I was really scared to work with Mr. Benegal. But once we started shooting, he turned out to be a really calm, jovial and humorous person. We never saw him upset on the sets,” says Minissha about the film and the director.

 

Releasing March 26, it also stars Samir Dattani, Ila Arun, Ravi Kisshan, Sonali Kulkarni and Yashpal Sharma.

Minissha Lamba finally made her dream purchase!

Minissha Lamba finally made her dream purchase. She bought her first house last month at Andheri’s Raj Classique, which also houses celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Abbas Tyrewala, Satish Kaushik and Shahid Kapoor, all of whom will be Minissha’s neighbours now.

Minissha bought her three-bedroom apartment after looking for a house for six months. She had looked for a place all over Yari Road, Four Bungalows, Versova only to be disappointed. She even thought of giving up in between. She hadn’t even thought of looking in this building because she didn’t believe she’d find a flat for sale. And when she did find it by chance, she fell in love with it straightaway. She thinks it’s important to have a flat of your own when you’re single. She will be doing the interiors of her house herself.

Minissha Lamba on ‘Knights and Angels’

Sunsilk Presents ‘Knights and Angels’ has entered its third week and the competition is getting tougher with every episode. The third episode of the programme was special in the sense that gorgeous lady Minissha Lamba was the celebrity judge for the show. She added glamour to the show with her performance on Sonia from ‘Kidnap’. She was specially impressed by fiery and energetic Delhiite Rekha’s performance and she bestowed the title of ‘Pocket Rocket’ to her. Sourav Ganguly surprised everyone on the show by breaking into the famous Bengali motivational song ‘Jodi Tor Dak Shune Koi Na Aashe Tobe Akla Cholo Re’. Bengali contestant Ananya joined him in the singing.

Minissha Lamba - From sexy kitten to village girl

Minissha Lamba got everyone drooling with her image makeover as a sexy siren in ‘Kidnap’ and her magazine photo shoots later. Now, the girl is yet again set for an image reversal and she will do this for Shyam Benegal who is plaaning another comedy after his successful ‘Welcome to Sajjanpur’.

This movie, a satirical comedy, is tentatively named ‘Abba Ka Kaun’. The movie will see Minissha play a rustic village girl and Boman Irani play a double role.

According to reports, the actress has confirmed that she is doing a film with Benegal. At present, the director is busy with his few pending projects like Chamki Chameli and a venture on Gautam Buddha and hopes that this film goes on floors the next month.

Minissha Lamba who tried her best to sizzle in a bikini in ’Kidnap’ says she loves the idea of watching a film in a single screen theatre.

She reportedly loves it when audiences whistle at strategic moments.Reportedly when ’Kidnap’ was released, the actress took her friends to an old theatre in Mumbai to experience what she thinks is the real fun.

The ’Shaurya’ and ’Bachna Ae Haseeno’ lass says she doesn’t know how to whistle, but she got very excited when people started whistling when she came out in her bikini-clad on screen!She has apparently said, "I really wanted to see the film among people who would have whistled, hooted, and all of that. I have never seen a film like that, none of my films at least."
