These are two of my absolute favorite songs from them:

Iris

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone! :)

Ne-Yo feat. Pitbull: Give Me Everything (Tonight)

Hi, everyone!

I hope you all had a good weekend!

Just wanted to share the song that's been stuck in my head for the past week:

Ne-Yo feat. Pitbull: Give Me Everything (Tonight)

I know part of the message isn't all that great, but it's soooooo catchy!!!

What do you think of this song? Which song is stuck in your head right now?

Beautiful Adele

Doesn't Adele look gorgeous on the new issue
of Rolling Stone? The girl's got pipe, obvs,
but I love her face too--and her hair!
I've got a girl crush, definitely.

"I don't make music for eyes.
I make music for ears."

Let's take it easy this Friday and just have a listen...

Hope you all have a fab weekend!

Song: Wild Horses

It's Saturday once again... doesn't it seem like this week went by faster than last week? It's probably because we had Monday off. ;)

I saw The Social Network last night, and I have to say it was a really good movie. I totally see why it won Best Picture at the Golden Globes. Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield were amazing. And, yes, even Justin Timberlake did a good job. I'd love to see them win big at the Oscars too. :)

Now, about this song I'm going to share with you guys... I first heard it when my friend played it as her song for our retreat when we were high school seniors (that was a little over 2 years ago). I just heard it again when I put my iPod on shuffle, and it's been stuck in my head.

Wild Horses - Natasha Bedingfield

**sorry about the video, it was the best I could find**

I feel these 4 walls closing in
My face up against the glass
I'm looking out... hmm
Is this my life I'm wondering
It happened so fast
How do I turn this thing around
Is this the bed I chose to make
Its greener pastures I'm thinking about hmm
Wide open spaces far away

All I want is the wind in my hair
To face the fear, but not feel scared

[Chorus:]
Wild horses I wanna be like you
Throwing caution to the wind
I'll run free too
Wish I could recklessly love, like I'm longing to
I want to run with the wild horses, run with the wild horses
Oh yeah yeah

I see the girl I wanna be
Riding bare back, care free along the shore
If only that someone was me
Jumping head first headlong without a thought
To act and damn the consequence
How I wish it could be that easy
But fear surrounds me like a fence
I wanna break free

All I want is the wind in my hair
To face the fear but, not feel scared
Hoohhh woah woah

[Chorus:]
Wild horses I wanna be like you
Throwing caution to the wind
I'll run free too
Wish I could recklessly love, like I'm longing to
I wanna run with the wild horses, run with the wild horses
Oh yeah yeah

I wanna run too.
Hohhh woah oh woah oh

Breaklessly abandoning myself before you

I wanna open up my heart tell him how I feel

[Chorus:]
Wild horses I wanna be like you
Throwing caution to the wind
I'll run free too
Wish I could recklessly love, like I'm longing to
I wanna run with the wild horses, run with the wild horses
Hooaah woah oh woah
Yeah

I wanna run with the wild horses

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! :D

American Idol Season 10 :)

Happy Thursday!

Were you able to watch the season 11 premiere of American Idol last night?

I know most people are a bit skeptical about whether or not American Idol can still stay on air -- Simon left, Ellen being a judge didn't work out too well, Kara left too, and I have to admit, last season wasn't all that great. But, it seems like this new season will be better.

It does feel weird to not have Simon and his snarky comments. The show is more light-hearted, easy going, and fun. I think the new judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, are good choices to go along with American Idol veterans Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest.

It's fun to watch Jennifer Lopez slowly learning how to say no. And, watch out for Steven Tyler's facial expressions and reactions. ;)

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler know what they are talking about, not like Ellen (I love her, but really, she seemed so lost last season).

I've read that ratings went down, but I'm really hoping that this season won't disappoint.

Another thing that I will be looking forward to (besides the changes in the show) is Jennifer's outfits and looks, of course! She looks so beautiful and her clothes, accessories, and makeup are perfect!

I think by the end of this season, I will definitely make a post on Jennifer's American Idol outfits. :D

Happy Thursday! :D

Happy Thursday, everyone!

One more day 'til the weekend, we can do this! :D

I got the chance to watch Alice In Wonderland last night, and I liked it! I'm thinking of making a post about it.

This will be a short post for today as I am in the library, and I should be studying and reading stuff... haha. ;)

Here are the songs that have been stuck in my head for quite some time now:

What's My Name? - Rihanna, feat. Drake

and

Please Don't Go - Mike Posner

Which song/s is/are stuck in your head? Watched any good movies lately?

***Oh, and just some news I read on E! today, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are getting married on Saturday at her dad's (Lionel Richie) estate. She is going to wear a Marchesa dress. :D***

Have a good Thursday night and a fantastic Friday, everyone! I will definitely try to set aside some time to visit everyone's blogs tomorrow or this weekend! :D

Last Song Syndrome: Just A Dream

Happy Tuesday! :D

I just want to share with you the song that has been stuck in my head for days now.

Just A Dream by Nelly

What's your last song syndrome?

*If you haven't seen my recent post, Essence Mineral Compact Powder, please click the link. Thanks!*

:D

Remember these songs? :D

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thursday! :)

I created a new station on my Pandora account - I put in 98 Degrees - and all my favorite 90's songs started to play. I've been smiling and singing along for about an hour now. So I thought, why not share them with you guys... and maybe bring a smile to your face too. :D

While I love *NSYNC so much, I have to say that for me, the ultimate boy band will always be the Backstreet Boys! Who thinks so too?

I Want It That Way:

Quit Playing Games With My Heart:

Aaaahh, and Savage Garden - I love their lyrics!

I Knew I Loved You:

Truly, Madly, Deeply:

Do you guys remember the days when Nick Lachey was considered an "it boy"?

Invisible Man:

The Hardest Thing:

And of course, *NSYNC!!! I had all their CDs! :D

This I Promise You:

I Drive Myself Crazy:

Oh, how I miss those days!

Are any of these your favorite? What songs from the 90's do you love the most?

I hope you had as much fun listening to these as I did! :D

Quick post! :D

Hi everyone! How was your Wednesday? :D

This post will be short because my sister needs to use the laptop to type her homework, and I've been sitting here for a couple of hours now visiting my fellow bloggers. Haha. ;)

Remember my post about the weather here in LA - and how it can't seem to make up its mind?
*please click here to view it*

Look what I saw when I went to go check the weather forecast for tomorrow:

97... 102... 105??!! Woah there.
Good thing I thought of leaving out some of my dresses when I kept my summer clothes today.

Some other news, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are the new American Idol judges!

I think they are going to be good judges! Very good choice. I'm excited for the new season of American Idol. I'm really hoping the show redeems itself. :D

What do you think?

Oh, and Happy First Day of Fall! :)

My Official Farewell to Summer!

TGIF, everyone! Yay for another weekend. I expect that most of us had a busy week, so today's post won't be too long. I just want to have my official farewell to summer.

I know a lot of us have been posting about Fall outfits and such for weeks now, but yes, finally, next week (September 22/23... which one is it?) marks the official start of Fall 2010. That being said, I would like to give one last hurrah to summer...

Belly tops, flip flops

Lemonade, in the shade

Blue skies, hot guys,

Late nights water fights,

Ice creams, sweet dreams,

Bathing suits, shooting hoops,

Party time, schools out,

Sleeping in,sneaking out

Summer's coming...

Summer oh ten, let it begin.

Now, even though I think they could've done a much better video, there is no denying that I love this song. To me, this is the official song of Summer 2010! What's yours? :D

Let's say hello to Autumn/Fall 2010, everyone! :D

"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting

and autumn a mosaic of them all."

- Stanley Horowitz

(from http://www.egreenway.com/)

Okay, well, we really don't get those gorgeous orange leaves here in California... but, they're just so beautiful to look at. And yeah, another thing, it will probably still feel like summer until maybe late October/ early November. Haha, oh California, how I love you.

But nevertheless, I am excited to wear something like that outfit above... maybe in December when it gets really cold, haha! ;)

I can't wait to wear these...

and these...

I don't really have a song for Fall, but these are the stuff I'm excited for:

Glee comes back on September 21st!

Both Grey's Anatomy and The Mentalist comes back on September 23rd!

Another favorite of mine, Ghost Adventures, comes back tonight! :D

What TV shows are you excited for?

What will you miss the most about Summer 2010? What are you looking forward to this coming Fall?

How about some videos? :D

Hi everyone! I hope we all had an awesome Tuesday. It was chilly today here in LA - that makes me both sad and happy. Sad because, yes, I guess summer is really over. Happy because the heat really drove me crazy, it's almost scarves and boots season, and Christmas is just around the corner. :D

I have pictures ready for future blog posts, please watch out for those. ;) But, for now, I just want to share with all of you 3 videos - 1 music video and 2 movie trailers. Do you guys remember when YouTube started out? I honestly don't, it's like I don't remember life before YouTube and DVR, haha! Just kidding, okay, maybe not. ;)

One song that has been stuck in my head for maybe a week now is Enrique Iglesias' I Like It. Is it just me or does he look wayyyy cuter now than he did before? What song is stuck in your head?

Easy A looks like a fun movie. I think it's cool because I'm pretty sure the majority of us remember reading The Scarlet Letter in high school. Plus, Amanda Bynes is in this movie, and I like that she plays the mean girl - a change from her previous roles. I'm sad that she retired from acting. But anyways, there are also a lot of other actors in this movie - like one of my favorites, Stanley Tucci. :D

Would you watch this movie?

This next movie - You Again - is something that I would want to see. It has the typical "mean girl ruined my high school life is back in the scene" kind of theme, but the trailer looks promising. I'm excited. What do you think?

If you didn't get a chance to check out my previous posts, please click here and here. Thanks everyone! :D

You're Going Places, Baby! Award and Love The Way You Lie Music Video

Happy Sunday, my dear friends! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. :D

I will be giving away the "You're going places, Baby" award! Special thanks to Cafe Bellini for giving me this award. I hope you have a wonderful time in the south of France! :)

Rules:

Thank the person who gave you this award. Get the award icon. Share with us where you see yourself in ten years. Pass on the award.

In ten years, I will be 30 years old. I hope that by that time I will be established in my chosen career, be happily married, have a healthy and cute baby (or two), and live in a beautiful home - starting out with a new chapter in my life. But, of course, before that, I plan to enjoy my twenties - travel, work, explore, have fun, do everything that I want to do - so that by that time, I will be completely ready to be a wife and mom. :D

I pass this award on to these lovely ladies:

I am sure all of us are going places, so really, this award is for everyone. Tell us where you see yourself in ten years. :D

In another note, have you seen the official music video of Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie? Here it is:

Many are not too happy about the message of this video. I can understand that sentiment. As a whole, I thought the video is creative and well-made - it feels like I'm watching a movie or a TV show (because Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan are in it, haha), BUT I really wish Megan Fox's character left at the end of the video to show that women (and men, too) should stand up and find the courage to leave an abusive relationship. And I also agree that the video is too violent for younger teens. What do you think?

What song makes you dance? And some DVDs I watched. :D

It's Friday! Haha, yet again. I can't get over how time flies. Sorry, I know I say that quite a lot.

But anyways, I just want to share this one song that makes me dance (even if I can't really dance, haha) and gets me pumped when I work out.

Put It In A Love Song by Alicia Keys, feat. Beyonce

What is your favorite dancing/ work out song? :D

Another thing, I went to the library yesterday to borrow a review book (I have to brush up on my Math skills...), and I decided to borrow some DVDs. This was actually the first time I borrowed DVDs from the library, so I found out that you can only check out 3 DVDs per library card. I had 6 I wanted to borrow! Haha. Fortunately, my sister was with me, so I had to use her card to borrow the other 3. I really love our local public library. They have tons of books, CDs, and movies available for free! :D

The DVDs I borrowed are:

Angels & Demons, Julie & Julia, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Proposal, The Blind Side, and Tuck Everlasting.

I watched both The Proposal and The Blind Side a few months back, but we just want to see them again. Yes, we are big Sandra Bullock fans. :D

Tuck Everlasting, on the other hand, is a movie my younger sister wanted to borrow and watch.

The first three movies I named are some of the movies I've been wanting to see for a long time now. I'm glad I am able to check off three from my "Movies to watch" list. I will definitely make posts about my thoughts on those three sometime this coming week. :D

In the meantime, I hope you have a lovely weekend! :)

Jason Mraz: The Remedy

one of my favorite songs. i highlighted my favorite lines. :D

what's your favorite song?

I saw fireworks from the freeway
And behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away
'Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring
Now something on the surface it stings
I said something on the surface
Well it kind of makes me nervous
Who says that you deserve this
And what kind of god would serve this?
We will cure this dirty old disease
If you've got the poison I've got the remedy

The remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it's serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.

I won't worry my life away.

I won't worry my life away.

I heard two men talking on the radio
In a cross fire kind of reality show
Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack
They were counting down the ways to stab
The brother in the be right back after this
The unavoidable kiss, where the minty fresh
Death breath is sure to outlast this catastrophy
Dance with me, because if you've got the poison,
I've got the remedy

The remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it's serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.

I won't worry my life away.

I won't worry my life away.

When I fall in love I'll take my time
There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind
You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine and I'll tell you why

Because

The remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it's serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.

I won't worry my life away.

I won't worry my life away.

I won't and I won't and I won't

New Look: Sweet Faerie Designs

Readers of this blog will notice the new look, all courtesy of Carrie at Sweet Faerie Designs.  Carrie is amazing -- professional, quick and totally creative.  I can't thank her enough for giving my little blog such a gorgeous makeover.  You can also check out her blog here.

Of course, this new look would not have been possible without the wonderful Helena of A Diary of Lovely and the giveaway I was lucky enough to win on her blog.  Helena was one of my first friends in the blog world and I can't say enough great things about her.  Not only is Helena kind, but she also has one of the best blogs around. For anyone who hasn't read it yet I would suggest you run--don't walk--to check out A Diary of Lovely.

So, the Olympics are over.  Congrats to the U.S. for the most medals over all, and a big thank you to the Canadian athletes for all their passion and talent--and for bringing home the most gold medals of any country. Of course, the gold medal game between the Canadian and U.S. hockey teams was a big part of my day.  Parise's goal with only seconds left--holy heart attack, Batman. I'm so glad the men pulled it together for the win.

The true North strong and free...

"To the athletes of theses games, we say you have made us proud. These were excellent and very friendly games." - Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee

As for the closing ceremonies, there were some funny parts, but I didn't catch the whole thing, mostly because a girl can only take so many giant beavers and flying moose.  I did spot Alanis, though, and I was pretty blown away.  She looked great!  Kind of like Elisabetta Canalis.  (Okay, this isn't the best picture, but on TV she looked good. Beautiful jewellery, too.)

And did you catch the teaser for the 2014 games in Sochi?  Natalia looked beautiful.
