Sameera Reddy went in for the most expensive course!

Sameera Reddy has returned from Chennai a changed woman. The actress, who has suffered from sleepwalking for almost 20 years today has left the habit behind at the Oneness University in Chennai. Talking about it Sameera says, "I was at Shamita's (Shetty) birthday party when Shilpa and her mother convinced me to attend Amma Bhagwan's Oneness course at the University there. Last week, I went for a seven-day course and my life changed after that."

Buzz up!Sameera says that she had been suffering from sleep walking since the age of six but after her course at the Oneness University, "I have been cured of my sleepwalking. After coming back to Mumbai, I sleep like a baby every night." Sameera went in for the most expensive course -- costing Rs 7000."

Sameera Reddy’s Bridal Gown designed by Neeta Lulla

Sameera Reddy looked stunning in a bridal gown designed by Neeta Lulla at a fashion show to launch the high couture store Aza in Delhi on Friday. She was thrilled to be involved in the show. "This is Neeta Lulla's extremely special collection,” she said, “What I love about it is that it's got a bit of woollen in it. This is winter season and it is bitterly cold outside. I was almost freezing when I landed in Delhi today."

Sameera is looking forward to her action-packed role in Ajith’s much-anticipated Asal, which also stars Bhavana and in which she did all her own stunts. The film’s due for release on Feb 12th and is guaranteed to blow your socks away. Ajith broke his characteristic silence to share his enthusiasm for the movie. "Normally I prefer to let the film speak for itself,” he explained, “Yet I have to tell you that every aspect including the stunts and chases in Asal exemplifies the title. Everything is original and genuine."

 

Sameera is also deeply committed to her role as a Naxalite in the movie Red Alert. At first, she nearly turned down the de-glam role - but then she read the script! The director of the movie, Ananth, is full of praise for the outcome. “I felt this girl could be tapped into doing something more realistic,” he said, “And that’s exactly what happened. When she donned the uniform of the Naxalite, she immediately realized that she was on a very different wicket and not a run of the mill story."

Sameera Reddy to remind us of Smita Patil

We last saw Sameera Reddy in ‘Taxi No. 9 2 11’ and then the dusky gorgeous lady seemed to disappear into oblivion. Now, she is all set to surprise us with her de-glam avatar as she plays a rustic Dalit woman in Nagesh Kukunoor`s “Yeh Hausla”, walking bare feet in the mud in ghagra-choli with peacocks accompanying her.

When compared with Smita Patil, Sameera says, “I never knew I could do these things. And this Smita Patil comparison is getting uncanny. It was Buddhadeb Dasgputa who first compared me with her.” Working in this film has given Sameera a lift and says, “I feel I`m now born as an actor. When people see me in `Yeh Hausla`, I hope they see me and not just Smita Patil. While doing `Yeh Hausla`, I felt I was connecting with Smita`s spirit. Maybe it was the pure, unspoilt ambience and that whole spirit of `Chakra` and `Manthan` that Smita is associated with.” “Nagesh has taught me so much. I`ve connected with emotions within myself that I never knew existed. I felt I`ve gone to acting school. Other actors came and went. But I was there for the full 47-day schedule. I`m in every frame of the film,” said Sameera praising her director.
