Sania's family slams media reports on Shoaib's exclusion

The media report alleging that Shoaib Malik was left out of the Pakistan cricket team for roaming around London  with wife Sania Mirza  at the cost of practice sessions has left the family of the tennis player upset.

Sania's father Imran termed the reports as "malicious and ridiculous rumours".

"I don't know who is spreading these malicious and ridiculous rumours about Shoaib missing a practice session due to spending time with his wife, Sania. These are baseless and childish allegations," Imran said.

 

"Shoaib and Sania are both seasoned professional sportsmen who will not allow their personal life to interfere with their professions. Shoaib has a healthy batting average of around 40 on the English tour but will naturally play only when the team management is convinced when his team needs him and when they feel he is back at his best form," Imran said.

 

Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed has clarified that Shoaib's exclusion was not in anyway related to indiscipline and the reason for his dropping was poor form.

 

Pakistan began their two-Test series against Australia on Tuesday at Lord's in London.

 

Shoaib made a comeback to the Pakistan team after the lifting of a ban and fine on him which was imposed for disciplinary issues.

Sania-Shoaib wedding tonight at 7 pm!

Expect the unexpected from Sania Mirza-Shoaib Malik couple. They have announced that their wedding would take place on April 15 but the latest we hear is that they have decided to tie the knot tonight at 7.

Buzz up!The news is doing the rounds that their nikaah would be solemnised tonight at 7 pm by Kazi Ahmetullah Pasha at Sania's residence in Hyderabad. It's also reported that the reception would be held at the Taj Krishna hotel on April 15. However, Sania's family denied the reports that the nikaah ceremony would take place tonight.

 

The couple had earlier announced that the wedding would be held on April 15 but nothing has been heard since the news of Shoaib signing the divorce papers with Ayesha Siddiqui hit the headlines.

Sania-Shoaib to wed on April 15!

The much-talked-about couple Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik made their first public appearance together yesterday to clear the dirty talks doing round the latter's alleged marriage to one Ayesha Siddiqui. They looked comfortable together and declared that the wedding would take place as scheduled on April 15.

Sania said that there is no reason to postpone the marriage. She added that she has faith in Malik and that he never keep her family in dark on the controversy.

 

Malik said that Ayesha wanted cheap publicity and has been emotionally blackmailing them. He added that he would not apologise to her, as he has done nothing wrong. He went on to say that he is co-operating with the police, who are currently investigating on his alleged first marriage.

 

Meanwhile, Ayesha's family has filed a FIR against Malik for cheating and harassment. They alleged that Shoaib married Ayesha way back in 2002.

Sania Mirza to wed Pakistani cricketer next month

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza  is all set to marry Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in April, two months after she broke her engagement with childhood friend Sohrab Mirza.

Confirming the news, Malik wrote in his Twitter page, "Thanks for all your support. And the news of me marrying to Sania is true. Inshallah will get married in April."

"I fully understand what it takes to be an international sports person and I will support Sania in her career as long as she wishes to play," he said. "Representing India  at the 2012 Olympics  is very important for her and I will be the proudest husband if she can win a medal for her country," he added.

A statement by Sania's father Imran Mirza also stated that 23-year-old Sania and the 28-year-old all-rounder will be based in Dubai, where Malik is a resident.

"This is a unique case where the husband and wife will represent their respective countries in sport," said Mirza in Hyderabad.

"My wedding inshallah is going to be the biggest day of my life. I have been in the constant glare for too long and would appreciate privacy at this very personal moment in my life," Sania was quoted as having said in a statement.

"I hope to be fully fit to represent India in the Commonwealth and Asian Games that are scheduled for later this year," she said. Sania's mother, Nasima said, "Marriages are made in heaven."

Incidentally, Shoaib was earlier accused of marrying another Hyderabad girl, Ayesha Siddiqui, in 2002 over phone even though the cricketer said he was merely engaged to her.

Ayesha's father had also threatened to sue Malik accusing him of ditching the girl. Malik's brother-in-law Imran Z Malik said the marriage proposal was taken by the cricketer's mother to India.

He said the entire family will leave for India on April 7 and formal nikaah ceremony would take place on April 10 or 11. The Walima or reception is expected to be held in Lahore  on April 16 or 17.

Pakistani media reports said Sania and Malik fell in love six-and-half months back and it could be the reason for the breaking up of Sania's engagement with Sohrab.

Sania, who had got engaged to 24-year-old Sohrab in July last year, broke off citing incompatibilty. 

"We were friends for years but found ourselves incompatible as fiances," Sania had said while wishing Sohrab the very best in life.

Sania to focus on Tennis, family says

India's women's tennis ace Sania Mirza, who had called off her engagement with Mohammed Sohrab Mirza yesterday will continue to play on world stage.

Sania's family sources today said the Australian open mixed doubles Grand Slam winner has now decided to focus fully on her game.

 

Sania had earlier announced that she would stop playing after her marriage.

She is immediately preparing for the Federation Cup Asia Oceania group II to be played in Kuala Lumpur from February 2 to lead India's challenge in the tournament.

 

It may be recalled that Sania was engaged to her long-time family friend Sohrab Mirza, son of a popular baker in the city, in july last year.

Sania Mirza - It is time for the wedding bells

 

Time and again, ace tennis player Sania Mirza had been linked to famous Bollywood stars including Shahid Kapoor and other eligible celebrities, but finally the beauty with talents has tied knots with her childhood friend and Hyderabad-based businessman Mohammed Sohrab Mirza, 23, an MBA student and son of a city-based businessman.

The engagement ceremony was held on Friday night at a star hotel in Hyderabad amidst relatives and close friends of the two families. The celebrity guest list included Badminton player P Gopichand, D Purandareswari, D Venkateshawara Rao, actor Vishnu and GVK Reddy were present on the occasion.

There was also some minor ‘hungama’ at the engagement party when two youths demanded her family to cancel the engagement claiming that they were in love with Sania. However, the security men handled the situation.

Sania Mirza looked gorgeous attired in a light golden and emerald green swarovski studded ensemble worth 20 million rupees by designer duo Shantanu-Nilkhil which she wanted to match with her antique jadawi-zewar(Choker). She was gifted a solitaire ring worth a whooping 10 million rupees by her fiancée.
