Weddings and Movies

Happy Friday, everyone!

Is it just me or did this week go by ever so slowly?
Have you guys read about the new zodiac sign?

Haha, sorry, I just had to put that in there...

Anyways, on to my post for the day... I've noticed that a lot of the movies I enjoy watching has a wedding. Come to think of it, there are a lot of wedding movies out there - and I love almost all of them.

Here are my favorite weddings in movies:

1. Bride Wars

Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson both wore Vera Wang.

Which dress do you like better?

2. 27 Dresses

According to an article I read, Katherine Heigl's dress was from Amsale.

3. Sex and the City

Sarah Jessica Parker wore this Vivienne Westwood gown for the wedding scene in the movie.

4. Made of Honor

I like the simplicity of this dress, and I love the flower on her hair.

5. Mamma Mia

I love Amanda Seyfried's hair, dress, and headdress! And the wedding in the movie is so laidback and beautiful!

6. Monster-In-Law

It's such a funny movie. The houses and clothes in this movie are just so pretty!

7. The Proposal

Sandra Bullock's dress looked so nice on her. The barn where the wedding was held was really beautiful. :)

8. The Wedding Planner

Bridgette Wilson-Sampras' dress is so poofy and pretty!

I like Jennifer Lopez's cute little pillbox hat and veil. :)

9. A Walk to Remember

One of my all-time favorites... I like Mandy Moore's veil, but I don't think I'd go for that in real life. ;)

I could name more wedding movies, but where's the fun in that?

What is/are your favorite wedding movie/s?

Have a great weekend, my loves!

Movie: Bride Wars

Bride Wars: Came out in 2009. Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.

A story about best friends who get engaged, and accidentally get booked for a wedding on the same day, at the same place and time. Uh oh.

Chick flick. Predictable. Yes.
But definitely fun to watch. Something I never get tired of watching over and over again. I love this movie. :D

"My hair is blue! IT'S BLLLLUUUUEEE!!!"
One of my favorite lines from the movie. :)

Have you seen Bride Wars? Did you like it? :)

Movie: Made of Honor

This movie came out in May 2008. I'm not sure if it was a hit, but I'm sure that I liked it. It's another wedding movie, and I don't know why, maybe it's the girl in me or me being a wedding-planner to be, but I just love watching wedding-themed movies. They tend to be cute, funny, and 'awwww'-worthy. This movie has all of that. :)
This movie tells the story of Tom (Patrick Dempsey) and Hannah (Michelle Monaghan). They met in college, and ten years later, their friendship is stronger than ever. Tom, being quite the ladies' man didn't really see Hannah as a potential girlfriend until she went to Scotland for work. After his Dad's sixth marriage, Tom starts to think about his future, and he's decided that his future is with Hannah. He then decides to finally ask her to be his girlfriend the night she returns home to New York... but there's one problem: Hannah brings home a fiance.
This is where all the fun and cute moments begin: she asks him to be her maid-of-honor, he says yes, he acts as a dutiful maid-of-honor while working to steal her away from her fiance, Colin (Kevin McKidd). They go to Scotland (Colin is a Scottish Duke!), and plan the wedding. More and more, Tom starts to see that maybe he's waited way too long and that maybe Colin is the perfect man for Hannah.

Hannah, on the other hand, starts to realize that maybe her whirlwind romance and hasty wedding plans are not the right thing for her. She starts to see that she doesn't really know Colin and his family. To add to that, Tom tells her that he loves her on the day before her wedding, adding to her confusion and apprehension more and more.

Okay, I think I've said too much now. The following two pictures will definitely tell you how it ends, but I did leave quite a few details out. If you haven't seen this movie yet and are looking for a light, feel-good movie, I suggest you see it. Watch out for the funny scenes and cute and touching moments between Tom and Hannah. :)

The Wedding Planner

one of my absolute favorite movies of all time: The Wedding Planner.

it tells the story of Mary Fiore, a lonely wedding planner. despite making brides' fairy tale weddings come true, her life is the complete opposite of the weddings she plan. one fateful day, a doctor saves her from being run over by a dumpster hit by a taxi driver (who shows up again towards the end of the movie). Mary and her best friend, Penny, then invite Dr. Steve Edison to watch old movies at the Golden Gate park. Mary then starts to believe she has found a man of her own, until she finds out that he is the fiance of her one of brides, Fran Donelly.

from there on out, i must admit it's predictable what would happen. however, the flow of the story and the characters make it a movie that one can't help but love.

it's just one of those movies that you'll never get tired of watching. i've seen this movie a million times - to the point that i actually know most of the lines. but i still love it. i get so excited whenever it is shown on TV, and of course i have the DVD. :D

random fact: this came out in 2001, almost ten years ago! isn't that crazy?
