But the thriller between their team and Chennai Super Kings on Sunday night brought them together.
Having lost three matches on the trot, the Punjab team was desperate for a win. And when it finally came in the nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat experience on Sunday night, Preity and Ness, who had kept a distance throughout the match, finally hugged.
According to an eyewitness, as soon as Yuvraj hit the winning boundary, Ness turned around and headed to hug Preity who was standing a few meters away from him.
A shutterbug, who happened to be capturing the action on his camera, did not miss the chance to click.
