WARNING: POST CONTAINS EPISODE SPOILERS
A Sawyer episode! Yay me! One of my faves of the season, probably because I love Sawyer beyond reason (not to mention Miles). Great on-island salon styling his hair got, too. Seems to me that all Sawyer wants is to get himself and the people he's close to (Kate, Miles, etc.) off the island safely. He'll side with whoever he has to in order to do that, although playing Widmore and NotLocke against one another seems a dangerous game. (And that's assuming Widmore and NotLocke are on different sides.)
Nice 'do, James!
So flash sideways Sawyer is a cop. Awesome! Loved the part when Jodi Lyn O'Keefe said, "You're a cop?" and Sawyer was all like, "Surprise!" Surprise, indeed. When deciding whether to be cop or criminal this James decided on cop, but his unhealthy obsession with finding and killing Anthony Cooper remains.
I would totally watch a Sawyer-Miles cop spin-off, love those two--and great seeing Liam at the police station. Not sure how I felt about Sawyer hooking up with Charlotte, although she did look pretty. Now that we know Sawyer is a cop it puts what he said to Hurley on the plane in a new light and also makes you wonder why he let Kate escape from the airport. I'm also wondering who Miles' girlfriend is (Juliet? Ana Lucia?) and why, in the flash sideways, Sawyer's parents were killed when he was nine and not eight.
"Take me to your leader."
Also, it seems that there is a theme of reflections in the sideways world. Half of Sayid's face could been in his brother's door (and he is totally gone on-island now), Ben's reflection in the microwave was extremely clear, etc. and now we have Sawyer. Perfect reflection in the mirror and he goes and smashes it all up. Doesn't look like a good thing. I'm also thinking that when NotLocke told Sawyer he was the best liar he had ever met that was pretty important.
At this point I think the eventual Sawyer-Miles reunion is going to get me as much as Jin and Sun's.
The whole Smokey-Kate exchange was also interesting. Who is his crazy mother--seems this is a big clue? What did that do to him? What does it mean for Aaron now that Claire is crazy and was that NotLocke's intention all along? Why is this show coming up with more questions--not less!--when there are only eight episodes to go?! Can't wait for the Richard episode next week. Should be interesting.
Who or what is locked up on the sub? Desmond?
What did you think?
