Prim and proper beauty picks! :)

Another week ahead of us! April is going by fast! :O

One more week of papers and midterms, and it's Spring Break! Yay!

Spring Break = time to blog, read for fun, catch up on TV shows, and not do anything school-related... oh, okay, fine, I have an exam and a paper due after my break, but that's okay, haha. ;)

Anyway, enough about that... for today, let's talk beauty!

With prom and wedding season coming up (and throw in some graduation ceremonies here and there), it's time for us to emphasize and highlight our prim and proper selves.

And so, here are ten "prim and proper" beauty picks:

Photobucket

1. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Siren ($8, Walgreens)

I really like Revlon's lipsticks - they're smooth and creamy. And the colors are fantastic! There are 72 shades to choose from! And for $8, as Charlie Sheen would say, winning! ;)

2. OPI Nail Lacquer in Isn't That Precious? ($9, Dillard's or Sephora)

I think this nail polish color is perfect for prom or for the many weddings you may be invited to in these coming months. If you don't have time to get a mani and pedi, or if you want to save some bucks, set aside some time to pamper yourself at home - paint your own nails! You can't go wrong with this subtle and pretty shade. :)

3. Paul and Joe Nail Enamel in Poodle ($14)

If like me, you're wondering what the difference is between this and the OPI nail polish, then I've got some answers for you. :)

Lacquers, enamels, and nail polish are all basically the same thing - they just differ in formulation (drying accelerating solvents, thickness, etc.), but you will end up getting almost the same result. Enamels are generally expected to give a smooth or glossy appearance (maybe that's why it's more expensive by $5?).

4. Lulu Beauty Solid Perfume in Starlet ($30)

I've heard a lot of good things about solid perfumes, but I've never really tried them myself. I love how pretty the box is and all, but I don't know if I am willing to spend $30 on this. Are you?

5. Too Faced Brightening Blush in La Vie en Rose ($20, Sephora)

Whenever I go to Sephora, I always check out the Too Faced section, but I've never bought anything from that particular brand. What do you guys think of Too Faced makeup products?

6. Lancome Tresor in Love Eau de Parfum ($55, Macy's)

My perfume is Daisy by Marc Jacobs. What's yours?

7. MOR Perfume Oil in Belladonna ($20)

Do any of you know what this smells like?
I think for $20, it's a good buy, and if you guys think it smells great, I would love to try it. :)

8. Victoria's Secret Bombshell Luminous Body Powder ($25, Victoria's Secret)

How cute is that?!
I've never tried this, but I would love to. :)

9. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Illuminator in Golden Pink ($30)

My sister uses Benefit products, and she loves them!

10. Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder ($7, Rite Aid)

At just $7, I think it's definitely worth the try! :)

Have you tried any of these ten products? Thoughts?
Which of these should we try? Which ones do you want to try?

Have a fantastic week! :D

Victoria's Secret: Secret Garden Collection

Whenever I feel like giving my Daisy by Marc Jacobs a rest, I always go back to my Victoria's Secret Body Mist. I've been using body sprays and lotions from Victoria's Secret for as long as I can remember. My sisters and I each have our own "signature scent". I always used to love Secret Crush; however, the couple of times that I went back to Victoria's Secret, they didn't have it. It was sad, but then again I thought maybe it's a sign that I should start trying other scents, and then I saw Secret Charm: their new scent. :D

So I decided to go ahead and try it. And so far, I've been loving how it smells.

I bought the body mist and the hand and body cream last Thanksgiving. And then luckily, my Aunt gave me the body lotion for Christmas (without knowing that that was my new scent!).
Refresh skin with this irresistible blend of honeysuckle, gala apple and stephanotis. Soothing mist, with moisturizing aloe vera and calming chamomile, leaves skin kissed with softness and sensuous scent. ($9)

I love how light the scent is. It's so refreshing and airy. Now that the weather is starting to get hotter and hotter, what I like to do is spray it all over me. It feels so good since it stays in cool in the cupboard in my room where I keep my perfumes and other stuff like that. :)

Condition skin with this irresistible blend of honeysuckle, gala apple and stephanotis. Deeply emollient, sensuously scented cream, with ultra-moisturizing avocado and sweet almond oils, is perfect for anywhere skin needs extra pampering like hands or knees. ($9.50)

This is very moisturizing and creamy: a little goes a long way.

Pamper skin with this irresistible blend of honeysuckle, gala apple and stephanotis. Conditioning lotion, with nourishing aloe, oat and grapeseed extracts, plus antioxidant vitamins C and E, leaves skin enriched with moisture and sensuous fragrance. ($9)

Out of the three products I have, this is the one that I finished first. It was mostly because I used this as my everyday lotion. It's less creamy than the body cream (their names are self-explanatory, haha). They pretty much work the same way. Ultimately, it all comes down to preference. :D

They also have other available products such as body wash, eau de toilette, body butter, and bath/shower cream. There are many other scents to choose from too. Check them out here. :)

Victoria's Secret normally has specials, so watch out for them. Right now their website says that you can get Secret Garden Collection products at 3 for $24 or 5 for $30.

Victoria Secret's Adriana Lima Ties The Knot

The hearts of single men are breaking everywhere. Perhaps, maybe even married men, too! On Monday, Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima announced on her MySpace blog that she 'secretly' wed NBA star Marko Jaric on Valentine's Day in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. When I think of the most romantic places in the world, for some reason, Wyoming doesn't make the list, but hey, when it's true love, who cares where you get hitched, right? Here's what Lima had to say:

Monday, February 23, 2009

"An IMPORTANT blog, MARRIAGE Hello!By this point, some people know about my big news! Yes, I like to keep my life personal but I did become married on Valentine Day to the love of my life. I am SO happy inside and I want to spread my love! The marriage was very small and not most friends and family could attend because it was a quick decision. Luckily, we will be having another wedding this summer that will be a bigger event! We have not decided where it will be because my family is in Brasil and Marko is from Serbia. It will be great no matter where! And finally, there are rumors of me pregnant. I just cannot say.. YET! .beijos!!!adri "

Woman Sues Victoria's Secret for Thong Injury

Here's one for the consumer reports. Although the tag may be larger then the underwear it still managed to injure a California woman.

The 52-year-old plaintiff filed a lawsuit against Victoria's Secret claiming that the thong caused permanent cornea damage when the jewel adorned underwear flew apart and struck her in the eye.

The underwear in question is the jewel clad "low-rise v-string" part of the brands "Sexy Little Thing" line.

The woman appeared on the Today Show to talk about the injury. Victoria's Secret has no comment.

Victoria's Secret hits small screen again

CBS has announced that it will air the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show again this fall.

The holiday-themed runway show will reportedly be held at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach resort. The legendary resort has been undergoing a massive, $1 billion renovation, and the show will be part of a grand reopening.

Models confirmed for the show so far are Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Marisa Miller and Miranda Kerr. The show will also feature musical performances, although they have yet to be revealed.

Ratings have declined since ABC first aired the controversial show in 2001. CBS has telecast it since 2002, despite FCC complaints about the scantily-clad models.
