Is Ryan Seacrest taking over for Larry King?
A source from CNN has said that Ryan Seacrest may take over hosting duties for Larry King in 2009.
Seacrest, who has been a fill-in for his pal in the past, is reportedly involved in "serious negotiations" with "Larry King Live." In April 2007, King also told The New York Times that Seacrest would be his first choice for a replacement when he bows out.
"He's the classic generalist," King told the paper. "The only thing I don't know, and I've gotten to know him pretty well, is how versed he is in politics, world affairs. Does he read the paper? Is he interested in Iraq? Because if he is, he's going to be very good."
MSNBC has reported that if Seacrest were to take over for King, Seacrest would also continue his other hosting duties. But there has been recent speculation that Seacrest will leave Fox's American Idol due to an Idol online market research survey that focused on viewer satisfaction with the show's host.
However, a source close to CNN said "there is no truth to his story," and Seacrest's rep said that "Larry and Ryan are close and Ryan does fill in as a guest host from time to time, but we have no comment on this story."
