It has been revealed that the late Anna Nicole Smith was investigated by the FBI for a suspected murder plot against E. Pierce Marshall, son of her late husband J. Howard Marshall. The starlet was only 26 when she wed the 89-year-old oil tycoon, and he died of natural causes about a year later. E. Pierce later waged a notorious battle with Smith over his father's multi-million dolalrs. In 2000, the FBI interviewed Anna Nicole regarding a murder-for-hire plot against E. Pierce, suspecting that she may have had something to do with it. She maintained her innocence and the case was eventually dropped due to lack of evidence. Both Smith and Marshall have since died - she of a drug overdose in 2007, and he of an infection in 2006.
