According to the Staten Island Advocate, rapper Method Man has been arrested for tax evasion. The New York Post reports that the Department of Taxation repossessed a luxury SUV belonging to Meth in March 2009. He had failed to pay over $50,000 in arrears.
The Wu-Tang rapper voluntarily turned himself in to police today. He hasn't paid his taxes for four years, accruing over $30,000 in taxes, not including fees and possible jail time.
Meth blamed the SUV repossession ordeal on his marijuana consumption. “Myself, I’m a pothead,” he told New York’s Daily News in March. “It’s no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else.”
Four years of constant marijuana inhalation has caused Method Man to forget to pay his taxes. No big deal, right?
