Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has confirmed to the Las Vegas Sun that Steven Tyler has left the band. Perry stated, "Steven quit as far as I can tell." Rumors have been swirling in recent weeks about the possibility of the band replacing Tyler, their lead singer.Apparently, Tyler has been distant and cold toward other members of the band. Perry stated, "Obviously, he hasn't been giving 100% for a long time. Frankly, the last few months I've been wanting not to rock the boat. I don't want him canceling more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We didn't want to call him out or get him pissed off for whatever reason. So we just let things lie."
Aerosmith celebrates their 40th anniversary next year. Perry is confident that the band will be successful with or without Tyler.
