Sridevi comes forward to promote ‘Wanted’

Bollywood’s sultry actress, Sridevi, was last seen in the 1999 Malayalam movie ‘Devaraagam’. Sri also made an exception for the sake of Salman with whom she featured in a number of projects including ‘Chandramukh’” and ‘Chand Ka Tukda’. The last Hindi film she acted in was 1997 release ‘Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha’. Since then the beauty has been missing the action and the spotlight.

It is again Salman who has managed to bring her out of the shell by making her appear in one of the episodes of the game show, ‘Dus ka Dum’, which will be aired on Sony TV this Saturday. The actress has done this favor to promote her husband’s forthcoming movie, ‘Wanted’ and will be accompanied by husband Boney Kapoor. Prabhu Deva and Ayesha Takia will also join Boney and Sridevi on the show.

“Now we can all shamelessly promote our film ‘Wanted’,” said Salman.

Supreme Court Allowed Salman Khan’s Wanted Release

The Supreme Court Wednesday allowed film producer Boney Kapoor to release his Salman Khan-starrer “Wanted” on Sep 18.

A bench of Justice B.N. Agrawal allowed Kapoor to release the film after he offered to deposit Rs.2 crore with the Bombay High Court as security amount in a dispute on an advance he had  taken from LMB Holdings, a B4U group company.

Prabhu Deva: Directing a Hindi movie is tough

Pokkiri was a money spinner in Tamil. Now the Hindi remake Wanted, starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Taika in lead roles, is ready for release. Prabhu Deva, who directed the Tamil version, has also directed the Hindi version.

Directing the Hindi version (the first Hindi film he has directed) was a difficult proposition, says Prabhu Deva. He felt that the pressure factor was more. "The expectations of these audiences are much higher and one have to cater to a wider range of cultures," revealed Prabhu Deva on his first big test in Hindi.

What or who was responsible for the delay in releasing Wanted? Prabhu said he did not want to blame anyone for the delay. Praising the lead pair, he said, "Keeping the tastes of Hindi audiences in mind, I made a lot of changes from the original in th song and comedy sequences. Directing a talented dancer like Ayesha and the cooperative Salman Khan made my job easier."

Salman Khan looks up to Wanted for success

Bollywood actor Salman Khan is keeping his finger crossed for success of upcoming film Wanted. Produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Prabhu Deva, the film features Ayesha Takia Azmi opposite Salman Khan apart from actors like Mahesh Manjrekar, Asseem Merchant.

Buzz up!"I have done lot of love stories, lot of comedies, many of them were not appreciated enough. In this film, I had the zest to work hard. I have done that. So, let's see if it works and if it doesn't," he said.

The film is about Radhe, played by Salman Khan, who is a hardcore gangster, a sharpshooter and works for a dreaded Mafia. He then finds love when the young and pretty Jhanvi, played by Ayesha Takia Azmi, professes her love for him.

Khan said the film is a combination of all the ingredients in good quantity and they all had to undergo good deal of training for it. "Our films are usually a combination of all things in small proportions. Little bit dance, little bit romance and little bit comedy. But this film has everything in huge proportions, so had to train hard," said Khan.

Khan has lent his voice to the title track of the film, composed by composer duo Sajid-Wajid. He had last sung for the film Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya in 1998.

Ayesha Takia Talks On Her Life After Marriage

“We went all over Europe for our honeymoon. Farhan knows London well because he studied there. We relaxed, walked the streets, went into cosy cafes. Now we’re back in the heat of Mumbai,” says Ayesha Takia. So how is she finding life after marriage? “Honestly I can’t see the difference between before and after the wedding. My husband Farhan Azmi has been an integral part of my family for five years now. I’ve no close friends. For me, my mom and sister are the closest people in my life.”

Even now Ayesha and her husband spend more time with Ayesha’s family than with Farhan’s. “That hasn’t changed. I was without my mom and sister for a month. Now again we’re together doing what we always did, chatting, joking, and having fun while mom cooks for all of us. Since Farhan has been part of my family I can’t remember what my life was like before him.”

Ayesha loves kids

On the sets of Paathshala recently, Ayesha Takia was caught having a ball with a bunch of kids. She was busy shooting for Ahmed Khan’s new film.

The sets looked like a huge boarding school, much like Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par. Ayesha informed, "It’s lovely to be around children. They can shoot for twenty hours together and not run out of energy."

As of now she’s busy enjoying their zest, compliments and queries. She added, "They compliment me on my hair. One of them asked me if my cheeks are real."

Ayesha’s role had to be shortened to accommodate the roles of the kids. But she’s okay with it. She loves the script and the fact that Ahmed and his wife, Shaira are like family friends to her. Ummm... that means she’s effectively ignored the fact that Ahmed’s previous films (Lakeer and Fool n Final where she acted in) have been super flops.

She also revealed, "Despite all the masti, there are rules to be followed on the sets. Ahmed Sir after all has a film to complete and makes sure the fun is organised and controlled. There’s no smoking on the sets, no shouting and no yelling on the mike."

Ayesha-Farhan a ‘Foodie Konnection’

 

Ayesha Takia the bubbly young actress is a complete foodie, her going to be hubby Farhan Azmi is also a restaurateur and that’s the reason she compares the food she eats abroad with the one she eats at her boyfriend’s place.

Takia reveals, “If I like a particular dish, I definitely make it a point to tell him. When I was in Canada, a friend took us to have the ‘best steaks’ available there. But the one being served back home, at Farhan’s was much better.”

If any director for a strange reason, ends up making a film on Ayesha-Farhan he should call it ‘Foodie Konnection’.

Ayesha leaves a vacuum in Bollywood

Ayesha Takia has been the sweet innocent girl-next-door ever since she made her debut almost four years back. The ’innocent’ image has been so dominant that Jag Mohan Mundhra the director of the Indian version of The Forty Year Virgin, where she was supposed to be the lead heroine, is panicking after Ayesha revealed that she intends to settle down and not pursue her career further.

First the other simple girl of B-Town Amrita Rao, walked out of his movie and now Ayesha’s retirement plans puts him in a tight spot. He says that innocent girls in B-Town are rare.
Yes, that’s very true since everyone wants to be as bold as the Katrinas, the Kanganas, the Priyankas and the Bipashas of B-Town.It’s truly easier for women like that out here. Even the likes of Minissha Lamba, Gul Panag, who only did simple girl acts and even Soha Ali Khan, have had sexy makeovers after they made not too many gains being simple and sweet.

Now Ayesha’s been lately fighting the flab and has appeared in plenty of inane films like Salaam-e-Ishq, Kya Love Story Hai, Fool and Final, No Smoking, Sunday and De Taali. But in Dor she exhibited her talent, and if there were more chances like that, Ayesha might have shone brighter as an actress.

Since she has a biggie with Salman Khan in the form of Wanted: Dead And Alive and another Nagesh Kuknoor (who brought out the best in her) film Eight by Ten, chances are people might get to see something interesting from this cherubic faced chick again.

And in the world of the not so innocent, the presence of a demure dame is highly required. Ayesha might just realize that and decide to work post marriage too!
