Madonna, Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey are planning a Michael Jackson tribute album

Some of the worlds biggest music stars are ready to honor the late Michael Jackson by recording versions of his songs for a charity album.

Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross have also been linked to the LP, as is the British schoolboy who was hand picked to sing at Micheal's memorial concert last month, Shaheen Jafargholi.

“The idea came from the memorial concert," a source said. "Many fans asked if cover versions from it would be released, and it seemed a wonderful idea. This covers album is sure to be a massive worldwide hit with fans and could raise a fortune for Michael’s favorite charities.”

The contributing stars will pick their favorite songs by the ‘King of Pop’ to cover. It is believed Mariah will record her version of ‘I’ll Be There’ from the memorial, while Shaheen will sing his version of ‘Who’s Loving You’. He has also reportedly been asked to record Michael’s early smash ‘Ben.'

Robbie is apparently going to sing ‘Man In The Mirror’, and other tracks expected to be on the album include ‘Rock With You’, ‘She’s Out Of My Life’ and ‘Bad.'

A Michael Jackson tribute concert is also being planned in London – where he had been due to play 50 shows starting this summer and running into 2010 – on the date of what would have been his 51st birthday, August 29.

Eminem Takes Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Down

The battle between Eminem , Mariah Carey, and Nick Cannon continues. It first started where Eminem gave Mariah a shout out in "Bagpipes From Baghdad," Nick Cannon then responded with a blog saying Eminem was insulting “one of the worlds most influential artists,” and that "homeboy is still obsessed with my wife." Mariah also retaliated by having a person dressed in her video “Obsessed” that looked similar to Eminem.

It looks like there was nothing else for Eminem to do but to get back at the married couple. Before he starts rapping, Em tells Carey, "Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me. Now I'm pissed off."

He doesn't stop there. "You wanna hear something wick wack?/ I got the same exact [tattoo] that's on Nick's back," the Detroit MC says a few seconds into his rap.
"Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee?/ Wow Mariah, didn't expect ya to go b---s out./ B---h, shut the f--- up before I put all those phone calls out/ You made to my house/ When you was wilding out/ Before Nick, when you was on my di--."

From there, he goes onto graphically describe what he says was his one sexual encounter with Carey and calls her a "liar" and many other fowl names, and threatens to reveal personal pictures and phone messages he has of the singer. Eminem then plays part that sounds like the diva Carey’s voice at the end of song: The unidentified woman refers to herself as "Mary Poppins."

Through out of the publicized dissing of the each other all three of them have denied any hard feelings. Cannon says the lyrics of songs can often be misinterperted and that they had no beef with the rapper. He also denied the resemblance of the man in Mariah’s video was intended to look like Eminem.

Do you believe it? How could all those words be misiterupted? Maybe they could have been in the beginning…maybe. But Eminems recent rap doesn’t look like anyone could take it but in one way! I wonder if this battle will last long or if they’ll just hold their tongues for now.

Mariah Carey shows her not so glamorous side

Mariah Carey is known for glamor and beauty, but she leaves her beauty behind in her new film, Precious. In the movie Carey plays a plain-Jane social worker. Precious is based on the book Push which tells the story of a young girl who is abused while growing up in Harlem. The film director, Lee Daniels, felt that choosing Carey for this part would be a very bold thing to do. "If she could dye her hair, put on a wig, take off the makeup, darken under the eyes, I believed she would begin to give me her soul. And she did," Daniels said.



Carey was not concerned about the look of her character in the movie and she said her friends and family loved her performance despite the way her character looks. "No one has said, 'Girl I can't believe you are there with those dark circles under your eyes and wearing a wig and looking nasty.' No one went that far," Carey said.

Mariah Carey To Participate In A Special eBay Auction To Benefit The Society Of Singers

Mariah Carey is participating in an auction to benefit the Society of Singers, which benefits the health and welfare of professional singers worldwide with emergency financial assistance. They also raise money for Masters level students who are pursuing their education in the vocal arts at accredited universities and music schools across the US.

The auction closes on April 18th on the UniversalMusicStore.com. It includes a box of signed Mariah Carey Luscious Pink perfume, a signed Emancipation of Mimi CD, and a signed Adventures of Mimi DVD set.

Carey was spotted yesterday during a trip to Mexico relaxing outside her hotel room. And, quite shockingly, the usually scantily-clad Mimi was almost FULLY covered up!

Mariah Carey and her adorable husband Nick Cannon were spotted at the Whitney Museum of American Art Gala in New York City.

Mariah Carey's New Single!

Mariah Carey recently announced that her fourth single off of the album E=MC2, will be "I Stay In Love." The beautiful ballad is a follow up to her Top-40 R&B hit, "I'll Be Loving You Long Time" and number-one single "Touch My Body."

"I Stay In Love" will go for mainstream radio add on October 21st. Whether or not this will be the final single off of her tenth studio album is still uncertain. However sources say that she is going back into the studio soon to record her eleventh studio album, so chances are this will be her final single.

Mariah Carey Debuts New Fragrance

Mariah Carey is thinking pink, Luscious Pink that is, for her second scent with cosmetic company Elizabeth Arden.

The first scent, called M, was such a success that Carey decided to create something with a more intimate look into her life.

"This scent is feminine, flirtatious and fun, and truly reflects where I am in my life now, after an incredible year," Carey said earlier this week.

Carey is clearly embracing the new, what with her new marriage and her latest album, E=MC2.

However, the diva has reportedly called off her second wedding because she cannot get it funded. Carey had been planning a lavish ceremony to make up for her private first one.

But rumor has it her new husband, Nick Cannon, has been showering Carey with lavish gifts.

"Nick went to a local Tiffany and Co., where he spent time choosing a gift for Mariah and put it in a regular paper bag so he could surprise her," a course told In Touch.

Mariah plans $4 million wedding

Mariah Carey is planning an extravagant second wedding to her new husband, actor Nick Cannon. The two privately wed in a small ceremony in the Bahamas April 30.

"It's going to be held in New York City in the next six weeks. Picture a wedding on the scale of Liza Minnelli's [to David Gest], and you'll be on the right track," a source said to MSNBC's Scoop.

"She wants over 2,000 guests and the budget will be well over $4 million and she'll have at least 14 bridesmaids," the source added.

The chart-topping songstress also recently told Ellen DeGeneres that she and Nick plan to have an annual celebration of their nuptials.

Rumors have speculated there was no prenuptial agreement in place for the initial wedding, but Carey told a friend: "Anyone who thinks we didn't have a prenup is smoking something!"

In related news, the diva's music allegedly was the cause of a road rage incident today.

Twenty-year-old Zachary Alan Schreiber of Florida was reportedly driving down a busy street with Mariah Carey's CD blaring when a passenger in another car, William Greenman, 22, started a war of words about Schreiber's choice in music.

According to NBC News, Schreiber then threw a beer bottle at Greenman while both cars were stopped at a stoplight.

Although the bottle missed Greenman, it did hit the driver, 21-year-old Christine Bec, in the head.

Schreiber was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal mischief and shooting a missile into a vehicle.

Another wedding for Mariah & Nick

On the Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday, Mariah Carey told the talk show host she and Nick plan on having another, larger wedding.

"Instead of trying to be like, 'you're invited, but, shhh, don't tell anybody,' we're just going to have another [wedding] next year," Carey said. "[Nick's] plan is to have one every year."

She said attendees at the small Caribbean ceremony were "mainly people there to do my hair and help me with the dress," and she and Nick only invited three friends each, since, "we wanted to be on the beach and we didn't want other people taking pictures."

Carey said Nick is the man who she wants to father her children.

"My parents divorced when I was three and I didn't have many examples of what was the 'norm,'" she said. "I found the right person," she said of her new husband.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are on the new issue of People magazine, and they reveal wedding details and exclusive photos, as well. It is the first time the couple has responded to queries about their sudden nuptials.

"We really do feel we are soulmates," Carey told People after the wedding. "I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me."

"She is beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside," Cannon added.

Carey will reportedly make an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show today, and she is scheduled to perform at Time magazine's Time 100 party tonight, as well.

Another person has come forward confirming Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's April 30 nuptials in the Bahamas.

Bishop Clifford Petty of the National Church of God in the Caribbean told People that he presided over the wedding. Petty's church is based in Eleuthera, where the couple received their marriage license, but the Bishop did not say whether the ceremony took place there.

And others have also come out of the woodwork, expressing their reactions to the sudden nuptials.

"I'm shell shocked," a source in Carey's camp told People. "As far as I know, they are happy together."

Music mogel Russell Simmons said that while he was surprised by the wedding news, he understands why the pairing works. "Whatever makes them happy," he said on Friday. "They have a lot in common and should have a lot of fun together.

"It's crazy right! We're definitely happy. Well wishes!" Cannon's brother, Gabriel, told People. "I'm trying to be like him and I love him very much."

However, others close to Cannon seemed dubious of the news.

"This is what Nick does; Nick is such a sucker for love," a source close to the singer-actor said. "He falls in love so quick."

"We all thought it was a joke, but he's been impulsive before. He's a mini mogul but still young and maybe this was a crush that went too far," another source close to Cannon said. "Well see. He takes awhile to come down from the cloud."

One insider said Carey and Cannon did not meet until March 26, when they shot the video for Carey's "Bye, Bye" in the Caribbean together.

"Nick was cast as the romantic lead and was flown to Antigua where they met so basically their [romance] started during the shoot," the insider said. "She's very into religion and Nick is very into religion. That's something they bonded on."

Meanwhile, those who were hoping to hear first-hand about the wedding news are in for a disappointment. Producers of "The View" confirmed to "Extra" that the singer cancelled a planned appearance, which was scheduled to be taped May 5.

More Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon wedding news

More news has been revealed about Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's alleged wedding.

A source told People that Carey obtained a marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera, where the marriage reportedly took place.

This contradicts the report that several days ago MTV called the Register's Office in Eleuthera, but were told no one under the names Mariah Carey or Nick Cannon filed for a marriage license.

Bahamian attorney Monique Gomez said marriage requirements on the island specify that both parties must be over the age of 16, and they must have obtained a valid marriage license within 90 days of the ceremony and have been in the country for at least 48 hours.

Meanwhile, there is still no official confirmation, but news is trickling out slowly.

Cannon's relative Linda told E! News, "He called and told us all about [the wedding]."

Jeweler Jacob Arabo, who created the engagement ring Cannon gave to Carey, revealed to People that Cannon went to Jacob & Co. two weeks ago to design the 17 carat, $2.5 million sparkler.

"The way [Cannon] came into the store, the mood he was in, I knew this was very serious," Arabo told People. "He said 'Jacob, I'm in love. This is what I want to do.'"

He added that Cannon was very involved in selecting the ring, which had previously been believed to be the same ring Cannon gave to ex-fiancée, Selita Ebanks.

"It may look similar from afar but it's not the same," Arabo said. "I would never do one of the same he had before."

The jeweler also told People about the compatibility of the couple: "[Nick] is an artist, she's an artist, so they have a lot in common. He was very, very happy. Happier than I have ever seen him. I've known him four or five years and this was a really happy moment for him, in his life."

E! News reported that a local who works for the island's leading wedding officiant verified that Carey and Cannon's marriage took place on Wednesday, April 30. She also said confirmed that rapper Da Brat and two other celebrities were in attendence, although she declined to reveal the names.

Henrietta White, who works for the island's floral shop, also told E! News: "My son did the flowers for the wedding."

Another source revealed that, as of Thursday night, the two were still on the island.

Did Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon elope?

Although Mariah Carey's possible engagement to Nick Cannon was just announced yesterday, several news sources are reporting that the two married on Wednesday, as well.

"Yes, we know [they got married]," a relative of Cannon confirmed to E! News. "He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him."

Latina.com said Carey and Cannon wed in a small, private ceremony held on an undisclosed island. Only a few close friends attended the "very impulsive" ceremony. A source close to Carey told The New York Post that the wedding was held at the singer's Eleuthera home in the Bahamas.

"Everyone is happy to see her happy," a friend told the paper. "And it could work out. Some people know each other for five years and get divorced - maybe this is true instant love."

"They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks," said a source close to Carey. "And she's always had a crush on him."

The newspaper also reported that no pre-nuptial agreement was signed. In Touch Weekly claimed Cannon designed a 17-carat, $2.5 million ring for Carey. (Although prior rumors had speculated Cannon re-gifted the ring he gave to ex-fiancée, Selita Ebanks, jeweler Jacob & Co. said the ring is not the same).

However, some are claiming the marriage rumors are actually untrue or a publicity stunt.

"The lady loves publicity," a source close to the singer said. "She's also got a good sense of humor. If no one gets hurt, why wouldn't she let the rumors swirl a little while longer and maybe help sales?"

Carey's nephew also dismissed the rumors on his Facebook page, according to US magazine. Although the nephew was in the Bahamas at the time of the purported wedding, he wrote "what you may or may not have read or heard is not true" on his Facebook status updates.

A source close to Mariah Carey told Access Hollywood that the diva is engaged to singer-actor Nick Cannon. Although reps for the couple were not available for comment, rumors about an engagement have been circulating awhile.

At an after party for her Tribeca film "Tennessee" in New York, Carey, 38, worse a new bauble on her ring finger. People asked Cannon what he loved about Mariah, and his reply was "everything"... but Carey has said that she is only in love with one man - her dog!

The two were also spotted at New York's Tenjune nightclub Saturday night.

"Mariah and Nick looked really cozy. They were cuddling and made sure they held hands all night," an onlooker reported. "Mariah looked really proud to be there with Nick, and he seemed to be having a great time."

Both Cannon and Carey were recently in serious relationships. Cannon was engaged to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks in 2007, but the two ended their relationship the same year. Carey had been seeing music executive Mark Sudack recently, although she never confirmed the relationship.

If the rumors are true, it will be the first marriage for Cannon and the second for Carey. She was married to her record executive, Tommy Mottola, from 1993-1998.
