Matthew McConaughey Welcomes Baby Girl

Matthew McConaughey welcomes the new year with a new addition to the family. McConaughey's girlfriend, Camila Alves, gave birth to a daughter, Vida. This is the couple's second child.

Vida was born on January 3 at 12:13am. She was 7 lbs. 7 oz. Her full name is Vida Alves McConaughey, according to Matthew's official website.

McConaughey continued to write on his website, "Vida is Portuguese for 'life' and that's what God gave us this morning ... Camila's recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family ... Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks."

Where In The World Is.. Matthew McConaughey?

Fresh from a worldwide road trip, the new dad, 39, took to his MySpace Celebrity blog Saturday to share his recent "just keep livin'" moments and reveals how he spent his Nov. 4 birthday. He's been a pretty busy guy lately! What a cute family portrait, courtesy of his MySpace, though!

"I spent my 39th birthday on the southern rim of the Grand Canyon," he blogs of his special day with girlfriend Camila Alves and son Levi, 5 months. "[I] almost got 'butted' off the edge by a ram and caught some shooting stars." Mother Nature created something that looks so fake, it's real. I was once again reminded of how good looking this country is."

He also went to Brazil with Alves and blogged about that adventure. "I went to Brazil for the first time to visit my lady's family and tour the land a bit," McConaughey blogs. "Found a very proud and happy culture there. We ate, we drank, we danced, and they tolerated my stumbling through the Portuguese language....I will return, beautiful country, beautiful and classy people...thanks Brazil...cool."

Camila & Jennifer's Post Baby Bodies!

These two gorgeous women had babies this year - they are looking amazing! Look at singer Jennifer Lopez's body, she had twins! These two famous Hollywood couples attended the Spring/Summer 2009 show by Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week.

Lopez/Anthony mingled with McConaughey/Alves at the show and posed for photographers. Other celebrities at the event included Petra Nemcova and Dita Von Teese. This meeting of some very famous stars makes for our PCM Picture Of The Day!

McConaughey and Alves took the baby for a stroll on the beach over the weekend! Matthew didn't surprize any of us by typically wearing a bandana and swim trunks - his normal attire these days!

Welcome Baby Levi!

The newborn son of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves graces the cover of Ok! Magazine. What a cutie! Matthew had quite a lot to share with the magazine about the birth of his son, his thoughts on the delivery:

“We found a great rhythm. Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”

... Now that's just awkward.

“Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this… let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you," Matthew also said. Well, the baby is a doll so we're happy it all worked out!

McConaughey Baby Update

Matthew McConaughey's rep confirmed that the actor's son, who was born July, 7 at 6:22 p.m. Los Angeles time, is named Levi Alves McConaughey. McConaughey said Levi is another name for the apostle Matthew in the Bible. This is McConaughey and Alves's first child.

"This guy's going to make one helluva good dad, " the actor's older brother Rooster said.

"It's good to have a boy the first time 'round!" he said.

"You can get away with dropping 'em a couple times, and they'll still be okay," he jokingly added. "Can't really do that with a little girl."

The week of celebrity babies continues with the birth Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves's son on Monday evening.

The baby, whose name the couple has not yet revealed, was born at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles, weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz.

McConaughey announced on his website in January that Alves, his girlfriend of two years was pregnant.

"Camila and I made a baby together...," he wrote at the time. "We are stoked and wowed."

Alves, a model and handbag designer, plans to take time off to care for her child.

"More important than anything is that I have a peaceful life and a peaceful home," she said.

Matthew McConaughey Drunk in Nicaragua

This guy isn't the charming southern gentleman we all remember from movies like How To Loose A Guy in 10 Days and Fool's Gold, is it? Actor Matthew McConaughey let loose at a bar in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.

His pregnant fiancee, Camila Alves, was not in Nicaragua at the time. McConaughey must have taken advantage of the situation because he reportedly arrived to the bar already drunk and continued drinking the night away. Sources from Star Magazine claimed that he was also hitting on many women, “throwing his arms around them and trying to kiss them, and trying to dirty-dance with a few out on the floor.” He continued to stumble around the bar and slur his words as the night went on. Not classy, Mr. McConaughey.

The New York Daily News received an e-mail wherein Matthew denied that he was flirting with women at the bar but fessed up to the rest of his boozing behavior. He wrote, “Drunk? Absolutely. Nicaragua is a beautiful place, epic waves, the best surfing I have ever been on. And, yes, I'm STILL looking for my left flip-flop. So if anyone finds it floating around down there (it has 6:22 stitched into the side), please send it my way. There is a reward.”

Matthew McConaughey makes deal for baby pics

Matthew McConaughey and his fiancée Camila Alves are all set for the baby, and they reportedly even hired "brand agent" Todd Shemarya to help them sell their baby pics.

Shemarya has brokered deals for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, among other celebrities.

So far the couple has fielded deals from three different publications, each offering over a million dollars, according to website TMZ.

McConaughey, 38, has also reportedly expressed a desire to be a "stay at home dad."

"Matt joked if he wasn't careful he will wake up bald and old and having missed out on years of his kid's life that he couldn't get back," a friend of the couple said. "He's intent on being there for his kid the way his parents were for him."

In other McConaughey news, deodorant company AXE sent the actor, who "never uses deodorant," a year's supply of pocket-sized body spray.

"We know that you already have a stunning girl in Camila Alves. But in a survey we recently conducted, nearly nine out of 10 girls (89 per cent) told us that they would turn down a guy because he smelled bad - no matter how in-shape or successful he is," a letter from the company said.

"We read that you 'never use deodorant' and we sure want you to keep Camila around, so we've enclosed a one year supply of the new AXE Bullet, the first pocket-sized deodorant body spray for guys," it said. "We know that you're always on-the-go and like to travel light, so this handy little gadget should fit perfectly into your active lifestyle!"

The once considered People Sexiest Man Alive, Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila are expecting! Camila is reportedly 3 months pregnant and the two couldn't be happier. Matt states on his blog "Got some blessed news...a celebration of life and bounty...my girlfriend Camila and I have made a baby together...all looks healthy and lively so far." The two have been together approximately a year and so far no sign of a marriage. We wish the couple all the best.

Matthew McConaughey to be a dad

Matthew McConaughey joins the celebrity baby boom as he announced on his website today that he and girlfriend Camila Alves are expecting their first child.

"My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together," McConaughey posted. "It's 3 months growin in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far. We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life."

He also wrote: "Wish us the best, keep us in your prayers, and God bless evolution. Thanks for being fans of me and my work and now this new and miraculous chapter in my life, as me and Camila and our child do our best to just keep living."

McConaughey, 38, and Alves, a 24-year-old Brazilian model, met more than a year ago and have been dating since.

A longtime friend of the actor, Mark Gustawes, said the couple is "incredible happy."

"In my opinion, the child will be raised with more love than it knows what to do with," Gustawes added.
