Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo Announce Split

For months singer Nick Lachey and his long-time girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo have denying breakup rumors, but finally they have come clean and have announced their split. "They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another," a rep for Minnillo told People.

The couple have been dating since 2006, only a year after Lachey's divorce from Jessica Simpson. Sounds like a rebound relationship to me, don't ya think? A source told Us Magazine that Minnillo and Lachey "still care about each other very much. This is what's best for both of them."

Last night, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo enjoyed a night on the town together.
The former 98 Degrees stud and former MTV VJ were spotted in Sherman Oaks, California grabbing a romantic dinner at Casa Vega. Funny how they are both formally employed, what are these two doing for the entertainment world these days, anyway?

Nick Lachey to host HSM reality show

Nick Lachey, the thirty-four-year-old former 98 degrees member, is set to host ABC’s upcoming reality show “High School Musical: Summer Session.”

The program, which is based loosely on the Disney Channel Movie series that stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale, begins Sunday July 20th and runs until mid-September. The contestants are going to range from 16-22 and open casting calls will take place in the coming weeks.

The winner will “receive the opportunity of a lifetime, becoming a part of ‘High School Musical’ history.” Whatever that means.

It seems things were getting hot and heavy between Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo at a private resort in Mexico. Photos of the couple engaged in a heavy make-out session were published by Life and Style magazine. Apparently there is more to the story, the couple is trying to keep racier photos and video out of the magazines and off the internet. It is said that the content of these other images would make the Paris Hilton sex tape look like nothing. I bet she is more fun than Jessica, but one can't help but wonder what the blonde bombshell is thinking about all this ::sound of crickets::
