The ongoing Hollywood Writer's Guild strike has halted production on at least eight prime-time shows.
Affected sitcoms include "The Office," "Back to You," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Til Death," "Rules of Engagement," "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory."
"Desperate Housewives" is also scheduled to finish filming its latest episode as there are no new scripts in the works.
Late-night comedy and talk shows have already been halted and forced to air re-runs. Stockpiled movie scripts should ensure the strike does not affect the big screen, and some shows have enough scripts to last into the new year.
In its third day, no negotiations have been made between The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, and there are no new plans for the two sides to talk.
