Miley Cyrus may have a new job offer when she turns 18. Playboy scion Hugh Hefner, 82, told Extra, "Sure, she'd be welcomed in the magazine," calling the 15-year-old a "very pretty lady."
Hefner also commented on the now-infamous Vanity Fair photos of the teen.
"I think to make such a big to-do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality," he said.
However, most people disagreed with the octogenarian, and expressed similar views about a photo of Cyrus sitting on her father's knee.
"This picture disturbs me," radio host Howard Stern said on his show. "It looks like his daughter is his girlfriend. He's trying to be hot."
But Cyrus said her real persona is nothing like the pictures depict.
"All the clothes - all the short skirts and all that stuff - my mom would never in a million years let me leave the house like that," the Disney star said. "So I think that a really cool thing that everyone's doing now is layering, just to keep yourself modest and cute."
However, the disconnect between the 'Hannah Montana' star's actions and words may prove problematic.
"Cyrus claimed she had been 'manipulated' and did not mean to alienate her young fans by appearing in such a grown-up pose. But it's too late now," Scottish education secretary Maureen Watt told The Sunday Times. "Girls have seen their idol go from wholesome girl to pin-up girl overnight."
The New York Daily News reported that audiences for the latest episode of 'Hannah Montana' dropped 14% from the next previous episode, which aired approximately two months ago.
