The good news for Slumdog Millionaire have kept on arriving as the movie after winning Golden Globe is nominated in Ten Categories for the Oscar awards including nomination for the best picture and best director for Danny Boyle. The movie is also nominated in best adapted screen play, cinematography, editing, original score, sound editing and sound mixing. Amazingly the movie scored two out of three nominations for best song “Jai ho” (A.R Rahman) and “O Saya” (A.R Rahman and M.I.A).
The other big movie with a good number of nominations is the “”The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which bagged whopping 13 nominations including Best Picture and Best Actor for Brad Pitt. Rahman, the film’s composer, also expressed his joy for the nomination in the words. “Slumdog Millionaire has paid magical dividends for so many people around the globe. I am deeply honoured to be a part of a film that has inspired so many,” Other than Danny Boyle who are nominated for best director are Stephen Daldry for “The Reader,” David Fincher for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” Ron Howard for “Frost/Nixon” and Gus Van Sant for “Milk.
