It's true, Joan Rivers upset Annie Duke! Donald Trump should have had an easy time picking Annie, except for one little snag. She didn't win the final task.
After Joan won the final task with 3 out 5 required objectives, it would have set a dangerous precedent on Celebrity Apprentice for Donald Trump to go with the front runner Poker Champion Annie Dukes over Joan Rivers.
The last task seemed tailor made for Joan Rivers to pull out an upset. Why? Only one fifth of the final tally was based on Annie's strength, which was raising money from her friends and celebrities in the high-stakes poker world.
Annie had the cut-throat mannerism of last year's winner Piers Morgan. Annie raised more money than any other contestant. Annie won more tasks as project manager. She really had not skipped a beat other than looking like a narcissist along the way.
The show ran a whopping three hours and was such a hit this year that Donald took time out early to mention the show was picked up by NBC for yet another year.
Dennis Rodman showed up too after jumping out of rehab so he could be on the live broadcast where Donald picked a winner. Fan favorite Jesse James called Dennis Rodman stupid for not realizing Jesse was trying to help in an earlier boardroom intervention episode. There was a lot to see and next year will have big shoes to fill in terms of firebrand celebrities, altercations and over the top egos.
