Proenza Schouler Lust

Being in the market for furniture, floors, tiles, etc., etc. doesn't leave much extra money for pretty accessories. Which I think makes it pretty unfair that Proenza Schouler chose now to launch their new wallets. The PS1 Continental Wallets come in five colours, and while they're cheaper than a Proenza Schouler bag, at $585 they're not exactly economical either.

Sigh.

Someone buy one so I can live vicariously through you. 'kay, thanks.

Love It!: Agate Tile

Happy Monday all! I have a good, but thoroughly exhausting weekend. How was yours? I'm hoping that the nicer temperatures and rain we got are a sign that spring is here--to stay.

On to design-related topics...I think you all know how much I've been crushing on sliced agate lately, which is why it'll come as no surprise how floored I was when I clapped eyes on these Chalcedony Gemstone tiles, available from Cercan Tile in Toronto. How are you feeling about this tile?

Love It!: Gucci Fall 2011

I can't get over how much I love just about everything
Frida Giannini showed for Fall 2011.

Granted, I could do without some of the python pieces but the
 rest is so rich, beautiful and glam that I can't get enough of it.

The jewel tones and the way they were mixed together.

The fur chubbies.

The fedoras (and the knits!)

The skirt lengths (especially with those fab boots).

I know it's a hard length to wear for some,

but I love it and the 70s meets-noir-glamour vibe of the show.

The fab accessories.

The glam.

Those lips.

Love It!: Sliced Agate

Lately I've been obsessed with anything--from jewellery like Serena's Susanna Galanis necklace above to housewares--that is made of sliced agate (which, according to Wikipedia, is a "microcrystalline variety of quartz...characterised by its fineness of grain and brightness of color.")

Love It!: Nate's Metallic Pouf

Leather poufs have been a mainstay in decor as of late and one of those Moroccan elements I just adore. Which was why I was really excited to come across a reasonably priced one by Nate Berkus for his HSN collection. It would just be great if it came in other colours, too, like silver.

Intrigued by the Ann Sacks LED-lit backsplash in Carrie and Big's Sex and The City 2 apartment, I found myself on the designer's website to see more.

While there are a ton of beautiful items on the site, I was immediately drawn to the Cosmati collection by Michael S. Smith.

I love a grey tile and the clean look of a white bathroom or kitchen, so this Michael S. Smith Cosmatiemilio grid (incarrara, nero marquin and marino blue) with an Alexandria border (carrara and marino blue) really speaks to me. Some other tile styles:

I also thought this flooring (Parquet de Versailles in Bronze and Shagreen in Multicolor Wash) by Charles Stone was pretty cool - it can be used inside and outdoors.

Love It: Carla Reiter Necklace

Okay, so this Carla Reiter necklace, as seen on Gossip Girl, is a teensy bit out of my price range (at $5,800.00 its about $5,750.00 over budget) but I love it all the same. Apparently the necklace is made of oxidized and knitted silver and is dotted with diamonds and copper raisins (real ones) and, like, fairy dust or somesuch. Le sigh.

The necklace, along with the Yigal Azrouël dress that Serena wore on the season finale, would be just perfect for wedding season (not to mention that studded M.C.L. by Matthew Campbell Laurenza Cuff Bracelet). Don't you think? Blake is also on the cover of the June Vogue, and I started to think that I'm not really thrilled about that, but then I got distracted by the girl's legs. She has such a great body for clothes...and bikinis. 

 

And about the season finale can I just say: OMG. W.T.F.?! Georgina!! Chuck!!! (To this eloquent assessment of the episode I would also like to add that Jenny has to be the most annoying character in the show's history. Ever.) Can't wait for next season, especially when I heard this. Je t'aime.
