Summer brings the heat and sunshine but it also means wedding season! So if you've found yourself on a guestlist this summer for a beach wedding or a black tie wedding, we've got you covered. Surprisingly, many guests don't realize that there is a dress-code they should adhere to before they head to the big party! (We made this list so that no one shows up looking like the person pictured above!)
The following tips are easy to follow, make sure you always:
- Don't try to outshine the bride!
- DON'T WEAR WHITE!
- Be classy without going overboard! No mini-skirts or super-low tops!
- Dress comfortably so you'll have a great time. No 7-inch heels, you'll regret it when you're out on the dance floor! With that said, use good judgement, it's important to dress logically, don't wear heels to a beach wedding but don't wear flip-flops to a black-tie/church wedding.
- For the guys, it's always proper to wear a tie, no matter what kind of wedding. Remember that! Stick with a dark suit and sleek tie - you will get away with anything!
- Don't be crazy - no opera-length gloves, tiaras or your high school prom dress!
- Make sure that if you decide to wear a hat, don't choose a 'Kentucky Derby' style, ok?
- If you're going to an outdoor wedding or somewhere with warm weather, wear a breezy dress that will allow you to breathe a bit!
Here are some ideas of sample dresses for the ladies that are HOT, fashionable and sheek without looking too questionable or out-of-place. And when in doubt, always trust the little black dress! Just remember, accessorize!
