Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of musician Billy Joel and model Christie Brinkley, was taken to St. Vincent's hospital over the weekend after ingesting a large amount of sleeping pills in an apparent attempted suicide. Her father later reported that she was expected to make a full recovery, and was "never in any danger" because she was taken to the emergency room fast enough, after her roommate discovered that she had taken eight pills. Some reports claim that the 23-year-old may have been upset by a fight she had with her boyfriend. She has since been released from the hospital and is now with her father recovering.
