'American Idol' runner-up David Archuleta has signed a deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records, Access Hollywood announced.
"Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true," Archuleta said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "Being a fan of 'American Idol' since season one and admiring the alumni, I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I'm really excited to start working on everything."
The 17-year-old teen and pre-teen favorite already has three songs on the Billboard Top 100, and his debut album will be released later this year.
"Without question, David Archuleta has a great future ahead of him," 'American Idol' creator Simon Fuller said.
