Actor Shiney Ahuja was reportedly arrested early Monday on rape charges leveled by his domestic help. Ahuja, who was detained for questioning last night, is likely to be produced before a magistrate’s court later in the day. Reports say preliminary tests conducted on his domestic help confirmed sexual assault, a senior police official said. The domestic help, who has been working at Ahuja’s residence in suburban Oshiwara, alleged that the actor had raped her yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, the official said.
The housemaid in her complaint had alleged that Ahuja raped her at his residence when they were alone, he said. The maid was taken for medical test late last night, the official added. Ahuja is married and has a daughter. He made his Bollywood debut in 2003 with the critically acclaimed film ’Hazaroon Khwaishen Aisi’ but is best known for his role in Gangster .
