When I happened upon Little Brown Pen's Etsy store I was blown away by the quality and creativity of each of their pieces. Nichole and Evan Robertson are a couple with two young sons who, in January 2009, rid themselves of most of their belongings to move to Paris. The couple says they made the decision "for the usual reasons: art, food, beauty, light. And some unusual reasons: an inexplicable connection to a foreign city, and the overwhelming desire to shake up our lives." I always admire people who have that kind of bravery to pack up and follow a dream!
The couple now live on the East Coast again, but continue to travel to France frequently, and their travels and life experiences certainly seem to have made a mark on their products. "We discovered a love for the everyday beauty of our favorite city, including the thousands of little details that collectively tell its story at street level," the Robertsons explain. Their Etsy shop, full of photographs and illustrations, is definitely one to visit if you haven't yet.
